Is this a bristle worm?

I must have posted this in wrong forum, didn't get much feedback.
Wondering if this guy should be removed.

Coffee_snob,

It is NOT a bristleworm.

That is a Spaghetti worm, out of it's protective area, normally they are hidden under the substrate or in a crack of a rock.

I've got a bunch of these things growing in my overflow, sump, and also some inside live rock crevasses.

Anyone know what these are?

Bright green nem, pink tips. Very fast reproducer. Doesn't seem to bother anything. Ideas?

Majano it is a pest.

You would do best to remove it as soon as possible and keep up on removing as you see them.

OK, good thing they are in a LFS. None of the reefers there ID'ed as majano. We all figured pest, just from growth rate. Damn, actually nice looking little nems.

Another strange occurrence that I do not have a photo of is: at random times during the day 3 pieces of my live rock will shoot out "dust" out of a tiny hole...I have not seen any critter that could be the culprit...any ideas?

Thanks ; )

I remember seeing something similar years ago on a previous tank. It could possibly be chiton. The one I had was well blended with the rock. Most chiton have their mouth on the bottom, so I can't explain the exhaust stack. But the dust or what I thought at first was smoke appeared to be coming from a short tube on the top exterior.

I've seen this before in the past as well. Found a clam nearby through a porous channel in the rock, so may have been an expulsion from one of the clams vents ( insert proper terminology for water vent here ). May have even been a oyster as it was dark grey

This was sold at the LFS as a Marble Tile Starfish but I haven't seen any pictures online of marble or tile starfish (or any fromia for that matter) that has as consistent a coverage of markings. He is a bit more red on the back between the tiles than this image makes him appear. I have had him about 6 weeks and he seems fairly happy and want to know more to make sure he stays that way.

Thanks,

Chris

Looks like a fromia indica to me...they come in a variety of patterns. BTW, this is a hitchiker forum...think there might be another one for non hitchikers? Not sure?
