Pix & ID: Critters that come in your rocks: the good and the bad.

If you ever plan to get corals, I'd get them out now. They spread very quickly & by the time you get corals it could be a nightmare to get rid of them all.

They'll spread from any piece left. Burn them to a crisp with a lighter, scrub each area with saltwater, then put the piece back in.

So I'm curious as to what this is..

It has gone from this:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ericksonfamily2011/7331856944/" title="photo by ericksonfamily2011, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7234/7331856944_92fcf9c64d.jpg" width="374" height="500" alt="photo"></a>

To this:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ericksonfamily2011/7331844752/" title="photo by ericksonfamily2011, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8016/7331844752_187d7c2374.jpg" width="374" height="500" alt="photo"></a>

And it now looks like this: (over a week later)
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ericksonfamily2011/7331829010/" title="photo by ericksonfamily2011, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7239/7331829010_e4e7529c0c.jpg" width="374" height="500" alt="photo"></a>

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

mlott, you'll lose anything else on the rock doing that, including the bacteria, but if it's not the only live rock then you'll be fine. Rinse it very well and let it dry out completely to get rid of the chlorine before putting it back in.

bio, looks like a strawberry ball anemone, which is actually not an anemone but related to mushrooms. Some say they're harmless, but I have over 20 (not pink, but clear) that multiplied from one and they bug my zoas.

Found this on the leaf of a fake plant the day after I added new live rock.
Stomatella? Isopod or copepod? Snail? Do I need to get rid of it?
