Pix & ID: Critters that come in your rocks: the good and the bad.

I got this nerite as part of a cleanup crew from a seller in Florida. It has a barnacle and just noticed that it also has a little colony of what may be digitate hydroids. What do you think? I like the barnacle but not sure about the other creatures.View attachment 292349

Here's a better photo.

Are these hydroids?

that is the best pic i could get...i have a 3-4 inch sand bed and it was long (about 2-2.5 inches). Im pretty sure iy's a bristle worm, I just wanted to make sure. i held a flash light up to the tank to get a better look and it did react to the light. thank you

Mystery Slug

Mystery Slug

OK Random Creature Gurus, here is the latest curiosity from my new tank. I am guessing some sort of nudibranch. Very small, so hard to photo. One shot is underneath (it was on the glass), the other from the top (you can just make out the two eye/antennae stalks).

Any advice appreciated!!

Crabs

Crabs

Not all crabs are bad. I agree that small hermits are the best, but some other crabs such as Emerald crabs can be extremely beneficial and stay to small to do any harm to your fish. I've had Emerald crabs in all my tanks and they've been great. They eat tons of algea and have never bothered my corals. I've also had a Sally Lightfoot crab for nearly 2 months he's been fine with everything so far I've heard they can get big but no problems yet.

Thank you. I thought it was an emerald crab, i just wanted to make sure. I've seen thenm at my LFS and this little guy must have come in on something....I love FREE stuff...lol

Is this an Emerald Crab? I didn't see a forum for crab and what not. Thank you...:)
I've got two of these in my tank and I love them. They're probably the most entertaining livestock I own. Every now and then I'll catch them pacing the perimeter of the tank waving their arms above their heads. Quite comical

This tank has been running for a couple months, lately I have noticed bright, glowing orange spots under blue LEDs. Close up they look like anemones? I can count about 50 scattered throughout the live rock. Good or bad?

i will have to look next time it's out...what do you think it is?

im not too sure what it could be but there are thousands of diffwerent types of crabs some good some bad. the main distinction from an emerald crab from others is their claws tho. but in any case if its not bothering anything in your tank then i wouldnt worry about it
