Just got my rock from TBS. Took a bunch of pictures on my iphone, but only a couple turned out worth anything. Need to get out my DSLR and macro. But for now, can anyone help me with these two?

Definitely a mantis but I don't know what species. Try posting this pic in our mantis forum to get a species ID.

The couple of little guys in the middle. Hoping they are fan worms and not aiptasia.

The striped thing in the middle of the pic and the guy an inch southeast of him (a little out of focus).

I really need to do some research on taking good pics. Sorry about the quality.

Hi all!

I'm new, and thanks to this topic I was able to identify most of the hithickers in my new live rock, but this morning before turning on the lights I found a couple of this little guys crawling on the glass, its about 1 inch long, look like some kind of nudibranch, just want to know if I can keep it or its bad:





After I turned on the lights they went for hide. My tank is cycling now with 0.5 ammonia and 0.5 Nitrites 0 Nitrates.

Seeing all the knowledge on this.Hopping to find an id on these I had some of the Aiptasia on a rock but have pulled that rock and giving it a true cleaning to rid myself of that one.This does not look the same as it is growing out of what looks to be a purple vain running along the rock they are very small at this time.

im not exactly sure but looks to be a fire worm to me.. maybe someone else will chime in.. but holy bubble algae!!!

those look like either an encrusting gorgonian or some type of xenia to me

I've got a couple of hitchhikers I would like ID'd, I looked through past posts and didn't see much that looked like a definite match. Thanks for your help!

Here is the first one, at first I thought it might be aiptasia and got worried but it doesn't have a round base, it's more of a branching structure from a central stem.


The second one is these little guys growing on one of mu snails, I examined them when I got them but apparently I didn't do a very good job.

I m slightly confused on the algae thing. Should I be concerned that I have hair algae and diatoms appearing in the tank, or are these fine to have in the tank and i should just get the appropriate CUC to keep them in check?

So I have found this growing in my tank recently. It looks to me to be a coral of some sort but I have no clue what it is. Anyone care to guess?

I'm not exactly sure what that is, but if it is a coral and I had to venture a guess I would go with Snake polyps.

Yet another "thing" I don't know what it is. Is this a flat worm? It is on my glass and I can't really see it from the other side. So no idea if it could not be a snail...

Will it become a problem?
