Am planning on taking down my metal halides fixture and buying some LEDS for my tank. I've been planning this for a few months and I think I no which ones I want. Any thoughts on LEDS would be great

Go either:

Radion Gen 2 or Pro

AI VEGA

Vertex Illumina 260

You can easily research them on reef central to see how people like them. They will still set you back 1k-2k depending on size of tank.

I personally decided to purchase the Maxspect Razor units.. They look sharp and I love the looks on tanks that I've seen that use them...

Market has exploded lately, it's hard to keep track of all the offerings. All I can really say is research carefully. LED adds a LOT of variables to the mix and units that seem the same on the surface might have totally different performance over a tank. Go check out some LED-lit tanks in person if you can, as many as possible. Write down details, get the specifics.

don't do it :spin3:

LEDS are finally coming into being a mature platform.

LEDS have worked out great for me. SPS/LPS and leathers have all grown well and continued to have good color.

Just get a LED fixture that has been used by the masses so there is a ton of information on them. RADION, Pac Sun, Vertex, AI and Don't go crazy with intensity.
