pleae help brown slim

ive had the tank around a year never no problems i have 250watthqi 10 k bulb on the tank i just changed it to 20k bulb im getting lots of brown algea could this be the cause or should i look some were else. nitrate less than 5 amonia 0 salinity 1.023 ph 8.2 there is a pair of onxy perculas and 1 s.gigantea in the tank and 3 turbo snails.i use a canister filter that is full of esv carbon and phosban.i also use ro/di water i change water 5 gallons every month with reef crystals and top of water i use kAlkwiesser buy 2littlefishies.i add 1ml of oidine once a week,1/2teaspoon of vitalreef dna,2.5ml of combisan.my calcium is around 390.o ya i feed the fish cyclop eez everyday 3 times i also feed them brineshrimp soak in selcon and vitacem by byod enterprise and yes they spawn with nice orange eggs this is why i feed them so have so that i can give fish away to thouse who want them but thats another story.please help

Hi trueblackpercula,

What are your phosphates? Do you have a protein skimmer or algae refugium? Do you test the TDS of your RO water? The brown algae is probably either cyanobacteria or dinoflagellates. Can you post a picture of it? Growing macroalgae (an "algae filter") or a protein skimmer would probably help you greatly.
