Great,
thank you for quick response
I will certainly pick bicolour blenny. I can have the pair of them?
If and only if they are a bonded pair; otherwise you will end up with only one or none.
as for crabs, I know, and probably follow your advice and have snails only.
Just hate to see you waste money on animals that will be picked off later
for the angels yes, it is true. Not yet decided, still long time ahead.
sad for no scooling fish.
which ones I can add Simultaneously?
1. True percula Clownfish pair with blenny or royal gamma
2. Bicolour blenny - pair with royal gamma?
and can they be quaranteened together, if, say I add 2 clowns and 2 blennies together?
thank you
what do you think about adding
Yasha Goby - Stonogobiops yasha and the Candy Stripe Pistol Shrimp - Alpheus randalli
to my wish list.
did not mention them at the beginning, since not yet decided which goby/shrimp combination to have. This one is pretty.
thank you
ok, will be looking for bonded pair blennies,
if cannot find, will get one.
125 gallon mixed reef
Orange spotted goby
Yellow goby
Lawnmower blenny
What im basically trying to figure out is, can I house more than 1 goby and more than 1 blenny in a tank?
No, in both regards. Prawn gobies don't like each other, but in the short run, it will work, except that it is likely that one goby will take both shrimp. Blennies which occupy the same ecological niche will not tolerate conspecifics.
Plan on also having 3 peppermint shrimp and 2 cleaner.
What about just a yellow goby or a lawnmower blenny. Can I house just 1 and it be ok with shrimp?
Most lack of compatible behavior does not show up right away. In the aquarium, months are more relevant than weeks or days. Unfortunately pseudochromis are very aggressive and may kill or intimidate water column fish
I posted this in the new to the hobby forum, and it was suggested that I pose in here...unfortunately the Bicolored Dottyback has already been purchased and is in the tank.
Ok, 75 gallon tank with live rock.
So I bought a fish that I thought was a Royal Gramma, but its actually a Bicolor Dottyback.
I have
1 Ocellaris clownfish
1 Barred Goby I should have said Bar Goby
2 Firefish Not sure how to tell if they are bonded, but they seem to be very compatible, only had them for a month
1 Bluegreen chromis
1 Sand Goby This one is actually a black barred convict goby
Am I okay with the two Gobys (they don't bother each other at all that I can tell)?
From what I am reading about the Bicolor Dottyback I am in for trouble. As of now, it's been a week, the fish hasn't been too aggressive...Would I be better off trying to catch him and return him to the LFS now. Or should I wait to see. I think I know the answer but I am hesitating because he hasn't been a trouble maker, yet, and it's such a pretty fish...
:clown::clown:I am going to purchase a set of ocellaris clowns I noticed you can get them from all around the world does it matter where they come from USA Africa Aus Europe or England
I have seen pairs on Live Aquaria Divers Den; otherwise the odds of finding a bonded pair is unlikely.
thank you Steve
will let you know, if I find a pair.
am thinking about 2 tank quarantine procedure that you suggest in other topic. It is somewhat different and certainly shorter then regular/most common quarantine practice of haveing 1 tank and keeping fish for 30 days.
any comments why you chose 2 tank vs 1 tank? besides the parasites and bacteria getting to the bottom after 3 days.
I would assume I would need 2 set ups of sponge filter and can use same air pump. Heater if necessary.
Would you suggest using DT water or adding new aged saltwater every 3 days to fill up second tank?
thank you
Hi Steve!
I currently have exquisite, xmas, and labout's wrasses in a 280 gallon fish only tank. All seem good and I love the color they add to the tank.
What is the compatibility of adding a Harlequin Tusk?
Also would other wrasses (ie: fairy?) do ok if added to this mix? Add the Harlequin last regardless?
Thanks!
