I'm starting a 29g Biocube, with the inTank refugium (chaeto) and mediarack (purigen/chemipure). I'm not planning on a skimmer, but I have one if I decide to add it down the road.

As for livestock, I was thinking:
1 Snowflake Clownfish
1 Yellow Watchman Goby
1 Small wrasse (any suggestions?)

1 Pistol Shrimp
Any other suggestions for inverts? Is there a good small anemone I could fit?

CuC:
Various snails
1 Emerald Mithrax crab
1 hermit
1 lettuce nudibranch? (they just look so cool!)

I was also considering forgoing the wrasse and getting three blue chromis, but I was concerned the tank is too small for that.

I'd appreciate any feedback!

Thanks,
Matt

your stocking list is fine with comments

1 Pistol Shrimp
Any other suggestions for inverts? Is there a good small anemone I could fit? not really

CuC:
Various snails
1 Emerald Mithrax crab
1 hermit will kill the snails for their shells
1 lettuce nudibranch? (they just look so cool!) but they won't survive long term in your sized tank

I was also considering forgoing the wrasse and getting three blue chromis, but I was concerned the tank is too small for that.

it is too small and in any case chromis have not been coming in with good health; even if they were healthy three would become one in the long run

I'd appreciate any feedback!

Thanks,
Matt

Thanks, great feedback.

What do you think about a Royal Gramma or Black Cap Basslet instead of the wrasse?

I have a 6ft long 125 gal, live rock with sand not too concerned about corals. prob lookin at doing a fish only. I have a large Pro Flx sump with reef octopus skimmer XP2000. My thoughts right know are as follows: Sailfin Tang (Desjardini), Kole Tang, Flame Angel, Indian teardrop butterfly, Some type puffer-maybe porcupine, banana wrasse, sailfin blenny or something similar to go in my sand and finally could I have some type Trigger like maybe a Red Tail. What order of intro? Thanks

Sorry, but I do not provide analysis of aggressive community tanks. Try the aggressive fish forum.

besides the trigger what fish are considered aggressive?

Some Puffers and triggers are both aggressive. And of course a sailfin tang, which really needs a 180 gallon tank minimum can be aggressive when it feels cramped, which it eventually will.

I am learning a lot reading this thread so I thought I'd get your thoughts on my plans. My tank is currently cycling.
225 gallon 72x30x24 with a 90 gallon sump, reeflo hammer head return split to 4 sea swirls. 2x mp 40's, SRO Xp 5000 skimmer, aqua UV 40w. The tank will be spa dominate and all fish will be qt'd prior to entering the system. There is about 250lbs of fishead rock so tons of crevices and hiding spots but plenty of open swimming room.
List:
Chevron Tang
Powder Blue tang (what are your thoughts on these?)
Pyramid Butterfly
Bangii Cardinals -pair
Black Saddle Clowns - pair
Mandarin/dragonette -pair (added later)
Barbonius Anthias
Disbar anthias 3-5
trio of purple fire fish
Flame hawk (maybe) wife wants
Solon wrasse
Fairy wrasse

There will be the usual cleanup crew, misc snails blue/red legged crabs, cleaner shrimp, fighting conch.

Thanks in advance

List:
Chevron Tang
Powder Blue tang (what are your thoughts on these?) they can work, ideally the last fish added since they become more territorial once established. I always prefer a long tank, ideally a 96 inches but a 72 inch tank can work if not with aggressive tangs
Pyramid Butterfly
Bangii Cardinals -pair
Black Saddle Clowns - pair
Mandarin/dragonette -pair (added later)
Barbonius Anthias
Disbar anthias 3-5
trio of purple fire fish only two and then only if a male plus female bonded pair. Otherwise it will work for a couple of months, then one will disappear
Flame hawk (maybe) wife wants not shrimp safe, but a superb fish
Solon wrasse one of the more aggressive fairy wrasses but you do not have any potential conflicts
Fairy wrasse

There will be the usual cleanup crew, misc snails blue/red legged crabs, cleaner shrimp, fighting conch. the hawk fish will eat the cleaner shrimp; hermit crabs will kill snails for their shells

Thanks in advance

we tried this before. I need the entire stocking plan including existing fish. Last time it was a yellow tang and damsels.

Ok sorry I have a yellow tang now and four blue damsels two snails and two hermit crabs I was thinking of adding more fish , my wife likes the gobys and I like chromis we were thinking of adding some .

As I indicated before, the damsels limit your options. Sorry I cannot help you any further.

Still very much in 'research mode', so I do not actually have a tank now, but this is what I'm thinking: 75g tank, ~30 gal sump and refug, reef tank.

2 Ocellaris Clowns
One Spot Foxface
Yellow watchman Goby w/ tiger pistol shrimp
Kole Tang
Toby Puffer
Green Mandarin (after a long period of learning and aging the tank)

Thanks in advance for the input!
