Thank you again, making the adjustments you suggest
ed. Thinking about then adding a Kauden Cardnial and 3 blue /green chromis

Thank you,

The nature of chromis is that three will become one long term. Bangaii cardinals are fine, be sure to get tank raised and if more than one, be sure they are a male plus female.

Intended fish stocking list.

This will be difficult to evaluate because while you have a lot of gallonage, your tank dimensions with only six feet of length provide some difficulty.

1 Lyretail anthia (female currently converting to a male)
2 Bartlett anthia (male and female pair)
1 Diamond goby
1 Engineer goby

Lyretail anthias - 2-3 females, small
Resplendant anthias Or Sunset Anthias - 2-5 female small

Anthias will be no problem but remember they really need to be fed multiple times per day

Bicolor or Midas Blenny

???Reef with caution butterfly
Copperband Australian is more likely to be successful but these are NOT reef safe necessarily
Yellow long nose One of these is reef safe, but the other species is not

??? Yellowhead jawfish 2-3 large
Blue Dot Jawfish needs cooler temperatures since they are collected in the sea of cortez

??? Magnificent or Gold spotted or Yellow blotch Rabbitfish

??? Tiger watchman goby
??? yellow watchman goby
??? Hi fin Red Banded goby
??? Neon blue cleaner gobies 2-3

??? Miniatus grouper (towards the end) eats fish

long nose hawkfish not shrimp safe

Pacific Red stripe hogfish or yellow candy hogfish not shrimp safe

Tangs: since tangs are more dependent on tank length, these will be difficult despite the gallonage
Yellow tangs 2-3
??? Nasotang or blonde naso tang needs a longer tank
Powder blue tang
Kole yellow eye tang
??? orange shoulder tang
Tomini tang
Chevron Tang
Powder brown tang

It is difficult to evaluate the above since as tangs mature their need for territory increases and tangs inherently do not like other tangs since they occupy the same ecological niche. As such, long term, there may be issues

Wrasses: all of these are prolific jumpers; in this sized tank, the number should be ok but you have a couple that are on the aggressive side
Red Velvet Fairy wrasse
long fin fairy wrasse
Whip fin fairy wrasse
Orange back fairy wrasse
hooded fairy wrasse
Lineatus wrasse
Rhomboidalis wrasse
Line spot flasher wrasse
Carpenters wrasse

??? Marine betta primarily nocturnal; can eat small fish
??? Harlequin tuskfish not invert safe
??? Queen angelfish must be the only angelfish
??? Cuban hogfish

Thank you for a prompt reply. I had some idea about the problems you have noted with the fishes. Could you please mark the fishes you would personally consider for the tank and leave the ones you would not put in such a tank. Can you also recommend some order or putting in these fishes. Thank you again.

Bioload/ stock wise how would this list look in a 75?

Melanarus wrasse
Yellow wrasse
Yellow eye mole tang
Swissguard basslet
Pink spot goby
Clarkii
6 red stripe cardinals
2 male flasher wrasse (different species, likely mccoskers and blue flasher)

Too much? Considering 6 are small cardinals?

bioload should be fine assuming you stage introduction but not reef safe

Newbie here, not sure where to ask this question so I'll start here.

Own a 6 inch SCL female RES currently in a 47 gallon bowfront with all the proper setup. Not very exciting though because I can't keep anything with her because she eats virtually everything.

So we had new tenants move into the offices I work at that sell and service all kinda of saltwater setups and fish. Got me interested so after a bit of research I bought what I believe is referred to as a pico tank.

5 gallon Fluval Spec V. Currently has 5 pounds of live sand, salt water is setup and tested, no heater yet but getting one today.

I want to add five pounds of rock, and at some later time coral, but I know with the current lighting I'll either need to upgrade it or choose my corals carefully.

So right now I'm trying to figure out which fish/inverts I can add to my tank.
I don't believe it's cycled yet, as of my last water test it had not, but I do want to figure out what I'm going to get as far as livestock.

I have my heart set on a clown. A lot of people say 5 gallons isn't enough, but I see a lot of pics of the same tank with clowns, and even the saltwater people I know have a slightly larger tank, maybe nine gallons and they have a clown and a goby of some sort in the same tank.

What can I get away with here without being too unreasonable? Also what about things like crabs, shrimp, snails, etc? Especially those that can help keep things clean?

Thanks so much in advance.

Yes, your tank is not large enough for a clownfish. With that sized tank, a shrimp/goby commensal pair would work and that is about it for fish.

What about inverts which I assume are things like crabs and snails. Do they have a lower
Bio load that allows you to have a few more of those?

Edit: trying to find the link but I think it's some type of goby, but it's green and white striped. If anyone knows what that is, what about one of those ?

shrimp and similar do not really count towards bioload, BUT their behaviord must be compatible. People mistakenly assume that bioload is the end all to specification but rather behavior is more important for compatibility. However, do not mix snails and hermits as the hermits will kill snails for their shells. In your sized tank, there is still not a LOT of stuff you can mix together.

So what should I be considering? Love to get a crab. I saw a green clown goby looks nice but says 10 gallons. I think fire shrimp? look cool.

Well this thread is ONLY about marine fish compatibility and as those who follow this thread know, I do not provide recommendations for a variety of reasons. A green clown goby should do fine in your sized tank, however. A "fire shrimp" should do fine.
