Hopefully ignoring Gobies, Blennies, Possum Wrasses, and such?
If not, off the list it goes.
There was a Bristletooth, Orangeshoulder, and a Desjardini lost among other fish, I think I'm done with a tankful of larger fish.

1 possum wrasse
3-4 flasher wrasse harem (McCosker's or Carpenter's)
1 YWG w/ pistol shrimp

1 tail spot blenny

after one year or more:
3-4 anthias (Bartlett's or threadfin-recommendation?)
1 C. potteri
1 kole tang, if possible with yellow
1 yellow tang

Greetings! Awesome thread and I would greatly appreciate your input. Tank details below:

36 gallon bow front (Smaller I know. First sw tank. Fits perfectly in the spot I wanted)
ESHOPPS PF-300 overflow (up to 300 GPH)
ESHOPPS PSK-75 skimmer
ESHOPPS RS-75 sump (roughly 8 gallons)
NextReef MR1 reactor (AC/GFO)
Coralife turbo twist 3X/9w UV
RIO 1700 return pump (285ish GPH with loss)
2 x Marine land 400 maxi-jets (each corner/cross pattern)
Marineland penquin 200 HOB (Had since the beginning, use for flow and some filtration)
Cobalt 150w heater (tank temp at 77.5 when set to 76 with UV)
40 pounds of live sand (2ish inches deep)
50 pounds of live rock give or take

CUC - 5 Nass's, 5 turbo's, 2 red foots, 10 small hermits and a coral banded shrimp.
Fish currently - 2 small clowns (1 larger)

Future plans/hopes/dreams:
Variety of corals (Still learning and waiting)
1x Bi-color dwarf angle (Beautiful, but concerend about tank size and possibly corals {My favorite fish and most likely a pipe dream; however I've seen them in Nanos before. LFS says it would be alright, but then again they are the LFS...})
1x Yellow headed sleeper gobie (Sand-bed)
1x Purple dotty back (for the wife)
Thats it as far as fish as I know it is 36 gallons. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

My tank is finally up and going! I am looking to get some input on my stocking ideas, obviously, but to see if I should add these fish in any particular order.

I currently have 1 yellow tail Damsel and plan to keep it that way. I'm hoping a 75 is large enough for him to leave everyone alone.

Plan to add:
Clown pair - Perculla or False Perculla
Cleaner Shrimp Pair
Diamond Goby
Yellow Watchmen Goby and Shrimp pair
Royal Gramma
Clown Goby
Engineer Goby(can I have more than one without issues?)
Algae Blenny
Whip Fin Fairy Wrasse
and Lastly a larger fish either: Kole Tang, Dwarf Flame Angel, or Coral Beauty.. I plan to have a mixed reef tank

Will this be overstocked? If not, I would ideally like to add at least 1 more fish that would be more of middle to top swimmer. Any suggestions?

Tank will be 75 gallon (48"x18"x21") with a 30 gallon sump. 3" deep sand with as much live rock as I can get.

1 Flame Angelfish (Centropyge loricula)
1 Starry Blenny (Salarias ramosus)
1 Saddleback Butterflyfish (Chaetodon ephippium)
2 Ocellaris Clownfish
1 Diamond Watchman Goby (Valenciennea puellaris)
1 Longnose Hawkfish (Oxycirrhites typus)
1 Kole Yellow Eye Tang (Ctenochaetus strigosus)
1 Leopard Wrasse (Macropharyngodon meleagris)
1 Yellowtail Tamarin Wrasse (Anampses meleagrides) or (Anampses melanurus)

1 percula clown must be tiny if you have an existing sexually differentiated female clownfish
1 starry blenny
1 tail spot blenny two blenny may be a problem in this sized tank
pair Kaudern's cardinals must be tank raised male plus female
after one year or more:
3-4 anthias (Bartlett's or threadfin-recommendation?) I would suggest carberryi or resplendant
1 C. potteri
1 kole tang, if possible with yellow kole should be no problem, but a yellow once established will be very territorial
1 yellow tang must be last fish added
pair of mandarins after a year but must be male plus female for two

CUC - 5 Nass's, 5 turbo's, 2 red foots, 10 small hermits and a coral banded shrimp. pick snails or hermits but not both; coral banded shrimp can take fishy
Fish currently - 2 small clowns (1 larger) what species?

Future plans/hopes/dreams:
Variety of corals (Still learning and waiting)
1x Bi-color dwarf angle (Beautiful, but concerend about tank size and possibly corals {My favorite fish and most likely a pipe dream; however I've seen them in Nanos before. LFS says it would be alright, but then again they are the LFS...}) not in this sized tank for long term stability
1x Yellow headed sleeper gobie (Sand-bed) if you are thinking corals, you do not want this fish because of sand storms
1x Purple dotty back (for the wife) very aggressive, and not desirable, especially in this sized tank unless you only plan on having clownfish plus this fish
Thats it as far as fish as I know it is 36 gallons. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Cleaner Shrimp Pair
Diamond Goby pick one sand goby or goby mated pair in this sized tank for long term stability
Yellow Watchmen Goby and Shrimp pair pick one sand goby or goby mated pair in this sized tank for long term stability; however, you can have multiple shrimp
Royal Gramma
Clown Goby
Engineer Goby(can I have more than one without issues?) you will not be happy with this fish as it will rearrange your tank
Algae Blenny
Whip Fin Fairy Wrasse aggressive
and Lastly a larger fish either: Kole Tang, Dwarf Flame Angel, or Coral Beauty.. I plan to have a mixed reef tank either angel will work although not coral safe towards meaty LPS corals; a kole tang would work instead

bioload and behavior should be fine; check back if you want to include another fish

1 Kole Yellow Eye Tang (Ctenochaetus strigosus)
1 Leopard Wrasse (Macropharyngodon meleagris)
1 Yellowtail Tamarin Wrasse (Anampses meleagrides) or (Anampses melanurus)

fine except as noted but your last two fish should only be added after the tank is 9 months mature

55 gallon Fowlr
50 lbs of sand, 50+ lbs of live rocks
Tank has been running for about month and a half. Water parimeters checking out at zeros with ph at 8.2.

Maroon Clown (possibly a pair?)

Lawnmower Blenny
Diamond Goby
Neon Goby (pair)
Flame Angel
Purple and Yellow Wrasse

Would a pair of ocellaris be a better fit than the maroons?

My apologies. They are just Ocellaris clowns and I figured as much on the bi-color... Maybe a pigmy cherub angel?.. Appreciate the reply and I do understand I am pretty limited due to the smaller tank size of only 36g. Any suggestions fish wise on top of my clowns for a successful happy reef tank? Maybe a clown goby instead of the the yellow headed sleeper? Would the 2 clowns, clown goby and pigmy cherub angel work and should I fully rule out the doty back? Thanks again!

Maroon Clown (possibly a pair?)

Lawnmower Blenny
Diamond Goby
Neon Goby (pair) unless bonded pair, only one
Flame Angel
Purple and Yellow Wrasse

Would a pair of ocellaris be a better fit than the maroons? very much so; maroon clownfish once sexually mature will be very aggressive and want to own the entire tank

I would rule out any dottyback. A clown goby would be great; pygmy cherub angels can be very aggressive, especially in a small tank
