Thanks for the input and quick response,

I am thinking in upgrade to a bigger tank after a year or so and buy the fish fairly small, so when they begin to be too big for my current tank I can upgrade.

I strongly urge you to buy fish for the tank you have; upgrades rarely happen as planned

What other fish should I consider? I thinking on adding a Purple firefish too. Or those would be more than enough?. Also is the sand sifter hermit that I currently have ok?.

As folks who follow this thread know, I do not make recommendations for a variety of reasons. If you plan on a firefish, add it early on.

Thanks,
Patty

Will a yellow watchman goby and a tailspot blenny do ok together?

When I get them there will be 1 chromis, 2 clowns, 1 fire shrimp, and 1 skunk cleaner

hey snorvich. im going to be setting up a larger shallow cube tank. wondering what would be big enough for some of the larger fish. powder blue/moorish idol/regal angel/ i know they would prefer an 8' tank. 48" cube is almost 6' diagonally. thoughts?

I do not recommend cubes for "swimmers". Length is the most important dimension for them.

120rr 150 or so lbs of live rock 2" LS 2x250w halide 30g sump, 15g fuge with dsb asm g4 mag 9.5, 2 seio 1100 superflows. Hoping to do mostly tangs. which will get along and be ok in a 120? It will also be mixed reef with mostly softies maybe some sps

I suggest at MOST two tangs in that sized tank and not large or highly active ones

Okay, this is a bit of an unusual question, but I wanted your expert advice before buying anything.

I managed to rear the fry of my occelaris clowns (only two sadly) and they're 5 months old now, originally I wanted to sell them but my wife (bless her) wanted to keep them.
They are currently in a small 5G tank plumbed into my main tank.

I know that I can't put them in my DT because they are going to get killed by my other clowns, so that's why the odd question.

What tank size would you recommend for these two and for one of my anemones, there would be no other fish in there and the tank would be plumbed into my main system.

Thank you oh great one

Thanks once again for your Snorvich. One more question and I'll get out of your hair ;)

If in the list below, I subbed out the purple firefish for a solor wrasse, would that still work?

I've been looking for info on combining fairy and flasher wrasses - I've read it around here before but can't remember where. Still looking.

Specs and list reproduced below for your convenience.

Tank Specs:
55 gallon + 20 gallon Sump
2x mp10 powerheads
Reef Octopus NWB110 protein skimmer
70 lbs Live Rock
Aragonite oolitic sand, 1 1/2 in deep
Will have zoas, softies, LPS corals
Let me know if you need more specs

Fish Choices:
2x True Percula clownfish (buying 2 small at the same time)
1x Yellowhead Jawfish
1x Male, 1x Female McCoskers Flasher Wrasse
1x Purple firefish

Thanks again,
Tim

Well, with an anemone, and assuming you raise them to sexual maturity, a 29/30 would be optimum, but you could scrape by with a 20. Unusual question.

not really no, regal yes, moorish yes. at least i think so..... what are some awesome non swimmers? and it will def be minimal. like 3-4 pillars.

With a regal angel and/or a moorish idol would do fine in a largish cube. However a regal angel is not necessarily reef safe.

Well the normal minimum recommended tank size for C. solorensis is 75 gallons and they are one of the more (not most) aggressive fairy wrasses.

i realize that, but im willing to take my chances. whats yur definition of "largish"? 36" 48" 60" cubed? it will be shallow, like 1' or less
