OK so I'm back with a more realistic stocking list.

Here is what I have
Tank is 90 us gal 1yr old, starting 29 gal sump soon

2 O. Clowns
1 Benggai cardinal
1 royal grammar (wife saw it at the LFS and told me we had to get him. He is in the QT)

What I want -

1 - high fin red band goby
1 - pistol shrimp( hopeful pair with the goby)
1 - bristle tooth tomini tang
3 - Bartletts Anthias For more than one anthias, you will need a larger tank because of the social interaction that will occur
1 - mandarin down the road once the tank and sup are producing plenty pods

Except as noted, should be fine

I've got a 220+ tank 72.5 x 25 x 29 with live rock, shrimp, snails and some hermits who snuck in... I've got SPS, LPS and am planning to add some softies, mushrooms, etc...

Tank is 10 months old with the following stock:

• Chevron Tang
• Trio of Barlett's Fairy Anthias
• Mated pair of red mandarins
• Mated pair true perc clowns
• Magnificent Foxface
• mated pair yasha goby
• yellow watchman goby
• mated pair of kaudern's cardinals
• male/female pair of red head salon fairy wrasses
• Line spot flasher wrasse male
• mated pair of kaudern's cardinals
  

I'm considering the following in the future:

--Red Tail Trigger (Xanthichthys sp) and am wondering if it would be a good fit. I've read they may go after the inverts and possibly the more docile fish. definitely not invert safe; may be a problem with smaller fish

--I'm also considering adding a female trio of Barlett's fairy anthias to join my existing Male and 2 Females.

--Mated pair of Maroon or Tomato clowns One pair of clownfish per normal sized tank, your existing clownfish will likely be killed since they additions are very aggressive

Algae blennies tend to regard any fish occupying the same ecological niche as undesirable. The smaller the tank, the greater the propensity to act out against another fish. In a ten foot tank, it is unlikely to be an issue.

Well, I am giving you the extreme; I know it is not going to work in your current sized tank and you did not specify what "larger" is in your case.

My tank has been setup for a year and half. Its a 60 gallon rimless cube with a 24 gallon sump. No idea how much live rock i have but i am planning on adding a ton more soon since my neighbor is breaking down his 150. He has some neat pieces i am going to add. Anyway currently i have 2 clowns who are very happy, however they are super aggressive to other fish. I dont want to but i am going to move them to a 24 gallon shallow. I plan on moving the Cardinals back to the 60. (the clowns tried to eat them and killed my firefish).

Anyway so fish will be 2 cardinals, 2 mandarins, 2 firefish, diamond goby, maybe a flame angel, cleaner shrimp and or a few peppermint shrimp, and i have no idea what else. I have a few happy leathers and star polyps in my tank. Please help me out if you have other suggestions on what fish i should get.

One mandarin probably will not work, two definitely will not work. Two firefish will not work long term unless they are a bonded pair. Depending on species, the cardinals may have to be a male/female.

The Mandarins are coming from my neighbor and i am pretty sure they are a mated pair. The Cardinals i own and live in tank by themselves and one is male and one is female.

More than one firefish will not work unless they are a bonded pair; the odds of getting a male plus female is 25%. In the short run, they will tolerate each other, months down the road, one will become alpha and dominate the other into hiding and eventual starvation.

Mandarins have a metabolism that requires constant feeding. Although the vast majority of them will also eat frozen, they compete poorly with other fish and unless over feeding the tank will not get sufficient supplied food. Your sized tank is marginal for long term copepod production for one and is definitely insufficient for copepod production for two.

I appreciate your advice, the new tank is only going be 43 inches long so I knew I was already shorter than the min required length for a tang anyways, I just wanted to confirm the Blennie and Tang aggression so I could essentially rule it out as a fish for my system.

For one, definitely yes. For two, no.

As those who follow this thread know, I do not provide recommendations for a variety of reasons. I am always happy to analyze any stocking list, however, as long as you provide tank size and stocking list.

-Pearly jawfish (Opistognathus aurifrons) - has a deep sand area but burrows in a shallow spot
-Tailspot blenny (Ecsenius stigmatura)
-Neon blue goby (Elacatinus oceanops)
-Yellow clown goby (Gobiodon okinawae) (Still in QT)

Waiting to add last:
-Flame angel (Centropyge loriculus) or Cherub angel (C. argi) - willing to risk w/ soft corals

HI I just got a 125 gallon 5 foot tank. will have about 75lb+ live rock, 30g sump, skimmer, UV light. with 1 - 2 inch sand.

will this tank be large enough for :

A sailfin tang and a emperor angel

and could I have two pufferes.. a porcupine puffer and a blue spotted toby puffer in the same tank???
