Hermannsae,
Yes, I am very happy with it. I can't think of anything I dislike about it actually. It is silent (no fans, a major requirement), has great reflectors, was easy to hang and lights the tank really well. I did change out the bulbs after 9 months to a 20,000K Elos MH plus 4 x Giesemann T5's (Actinic + plus Pure Actinic). I love the new light quality. I was nervous about the changing bulb procedure because you have to take down the fixture to do it (you have to remove the side panel to slide out the light covers and it's much easier if the fixture is down, away from the tank), but it ended up being about a 15 min. job. The MH does fit in the socket really tightly and I broke the old MH bulb getting it out. Fortunately I didn't care and the new bulb went in just fine. The moonlight version is which one? Having moonlights would be amazing. I just use a flashlight from Nightsea with the appropriate yellow glasses to see the night fluorescence and a regular flashlight to see pods, and other night life. By the way, the Nightsea is a must have imho...

Hello,

thinking of adding some more fish to my 75 rr with 20 sump/refugium.

2 oc clowns
1 coral beauty
2 kupang tangs
1 orchid dottyback
1 lepard wrasse

thinking of adding a yellow coris wrasse and a smaller tomi tang.

Am I too stocked? Tank is 10 months old, rocks from 40 breeder tank set up for additional year.

Thanks

Just lost my porcupine puffer in 125G FOWLR tank. Thinking about converting it to a reef tank. Current occupants- 5" Niger trigger, 5" Foxface 12" Snowflake moray.

1) pr Cinnamon clowns or Maroon clowns
2) Flame Angel
3) Sailfin tang (trap and move from reef tank)
4) Lawnmower blenny

My biggest concern is the snowflake eel. Any other suggestions?

I'm not familiar with a "Kupang Tang", but even one small tang is pushing it at that size tank. Have you kept leopard wrasses? They are an EXTREMELY difficult fish to keep, and I would not recommend one unless you are an experienced reef keeper.

It is Macropharyngodon meleagris?
What do I treat it with? And where do I get it?

thanks

There are ~10 species of Leopard Wrasse, all of which are frequently called just "Leopard Wrasse". I'd recommend Prazipro; it's completely reef safe, and will take care of internal parasites. I dose main tank every time I get a new fish. Join us in the Reef Fishes forum- there is a Leopard Wrasse Primer page, which is a great read!

I agree--Prazipro is excellent for treating parasites in the main tank

Maybe they meant Kaput tangs----I seen a few of those---they tend to hang around the bottom of the tank on their sides:eek2:

IMO I would not go with an eel in a mixed reef tank. You will want to add inverts and smaller fish like gobies and the lawnmower blenny which will become targets for an eel also
A pair of convict gobies look like snowy eels and are harmless except they dig alot of holes in the substrate.

How about a flame angel and a brazilian beauty together with a clown pair in a 35 gal?? Maybe a firefish too. There is a banded shrimp in there currently.

Hi.
I posted earlier about adding my first fish. I ended up having to give away my Six-Line because of my aggressive Flame Hawkfish. I pretty much decided to stick with him as my only fish after that.

However, next week I will be traveling to a town with a rather nice LFS to buy some coral. If they have them available, are there any fish you think would do ok together with my hawk?

Tank is a 20g cube, and I don't have a lot of LR for hiding:

just out of curiosity would a yellow clown goby and a yellow watchman goby fight? i dont recall if i read about the gobies fighting amongs each other and may fight because they look similar.

150 gallon (5x2x2), 160 pounds of sand, 270 pounds of live rock. Would like to add the following:

-Scott's Fairy Wrasse
-Longnose Hawkfish
-Yellowhead Jawfish
-Yellow Watchman Goby
-Foxface Lo
-Red Mandarin
-Ocellaris Clownfish x 2
-Powder Blue Tang
-Sailfin Blenny

Currently there is one clownfish in the tank. What is the best order to add the fish?

I'd start at the *bottom* of this list and go up. Everything from the Blenny up has potential to be really naughty. And ditch the wrasse/goby/jawfish if you don't have a lid, or you'll be making expensive fish jerky. Especially with the Scott's.
