Hi i'm new to this site so I just figured out how to write this post.
But yesterday I got a new Condylactis passifloria(I think i spelled it right) anemone and I have had my powerheads off overnight, but he won't stay where I want him and when I turn the powerheads on he just tumbles around.
You think I should leave him or put him up against the glass?

P.S Hes aggressive to so I cant handle him for to long or to mush,or he starts stinging me.
THANKS!

WELCOME TO RC!

First off, how old is your tank? what are your parameters (NO3, PO4, Ca, KH, PH, Mg, Amonia, nitrite) and equipment (specially light)... Did you acclimate the nem? how does its mouth and foot look? any pics?... whatever you do, leave it alone, the nem will set where it likes to, its not our call

Yesterday I was safe and did a drip acclimation for about 2 hours, the foot was partially but not fully closed so I layed him in a corner against some live rock. I turned on the power head this morning and he stayed in place for about an hour or so, until he yanked off and tumbled in a corner. So I placed him back where he was and turned off the powerheads.
My parameters are SG:1.023 PH:8.4 Phos:1.0 Nitrates:5.ppm Cal:480mg/L

I'm loving the site and everyone's quick responses!MUCH APPRECIATED!

Sorry I forgot,I have T5 lighting in a Red Sea Max With a Airstone skimmer, with biological, mechanical and etc. filter media and the tank is 1 year old with about 45 lb of live rock.

I would put a small rock on top of him to wedge him there. Make sure there is a indentation in the sand, or if no sand, make sure the rock is concave so that the rock will not crush or piere a hole into him.

I did do that with the sand and tried putting a rock in the way of the current but he still does not want to stay put.

Alright I fed him some brine and I just came back from lunch and hes really popped back to life and almost looks like he could be on the rock. So,should I turn the powerheads back on or give him some more time.
For now i'm just letting him rest.

PO4 of 1.0ppm is very high. Anemones don't like high PO4. How old is the tank? How many T5's, what watts are they? what size is the tank?

I think thats a little low on light. They demand a lot of light. He will move around till he finds a spot and is happy. I would bet he will try to climb closer to the light. I have 6 54w HO T5's on a 55g. I would also get that PO4 level down to around .05 ppm

That makes since, I could only get him to stay afloat on the sandbed by the rock,I'll try to get him higher up on my liverock. Thanks! I'll post what happens if he stays.

I wouldn't move him any more than you have to, it will stressm the anemone every time you handle him. He will find where he wants to be. Try to make sure he can't get sucked into a powerhead

Hes moved to the sand bottom,he seems to like it there he finally atached himself! And the powerhead doesent seem to bother him. THANKS for all the help!
