I just finished setting up my new tank, a 48"x30"x15" Peninsula about two weeks ago, and I'm looking forward to adding more fish.
Current inhabitants, transferred over from my old 120:
-S. magnificus (Magnificent Foxface)
-M/F pair of P. lineopunctatus (Linespot Flasher Wrasses)
-M/F pair of A. ocellaris (Ocellaris Clownfish)
I'm planning on adding, in roughly this order:
-Tailspot Blenny (E. stigmatura)
-Helfrichi Firefish (N. helfrichi)
-Citron Goby (G. citrinus)
-Saddle Puffer (C. valentini)
-Royal Gramma (G. loreto)
-Some sort of Pseudochromis, probably fridmani.
-Lubbock's Fairy Wrasse (C. lubbocki)
-Exquisite Fairy Wrasse (C. exquisitas)
I'd try to add the two fairy wrasses simultaneously, and use an acclimation box. Hopefully my male P. lineopunctatus would tolerate them. I figure given they're a different genus, it'll probably be fine.
And last, MAYBE
-Either A. pyroferus, Z. Scopas, Z. flavescens, or some sort of Ctenochaetus tang.
I'm really torn on the tang. I like them, they're cool fish, and more algae eaters are always nice, but I already have one big fish (the Foxface) in the tank. He's as peaceful as can be, but I could see a tang picking a fight with him as it got bigger. Additionally, my last experience with a tang in a 4' tank wasn't a great one. After two years of happy and reasonably peaceful life, the C. binotatus I had in my 120 got very aggressive. Problems started with him after he needed to spend 72 days in a 40 breeder (ich). Upon reintroduction, he became very aggressive with other fish. He wasn't even THAT big, maybe 5". The only other fish he would tolerate was the Foxface, everyone else was chased into hiding (or killed) until I was able to extract him.
How does this plan sound? Does anyone have any feedback on the tang front?
