What are your plans for the tank?

Me?

If you are asking me I am planning mostly softies and fish although I am thinking of getting some hard corals eventually.

I need a calcium reactor 1st.

what kind of lights Kevin? and which protein skimmer did you go with>

I am using a euro reef 8-2 with this tank. For lighting I have a aquaspacelight 3x250 watt MH w/ 4 24 watt actinics.

Gettin the itch for my new tank. Trying to decide if I want to make the stand out of wood or go with stainless steel tube.

What size tank are you looking at? 180 on a tube base? Dont think I've ever seen that. do you have pics of a tube stand?

Mine's not a standard 180 per se...

It's actually a custom 48"x30"x30"

But here's a few shots of the tank back in Aug of last year. They're the most current pics that I have. As you can see I'm a believer in the "less is more" approach with my rockwork.

what is that substrate? Looks very interesting. how long has the tank been setup?

Dean

The substrate was a mix of Tahitian black moon and regular aragonite. Looked good for a while but the excitement quickly wore off and I have since swapped it out to a mix of #3 & #5 aragonite. The tank has been up little over 18 mo's but those pics were taken around the 1 year mark. I have made some changes since then.

Not much yet! Will hopefully be fully operational starting next weekend. Atleast thats what I'm planning!

Very nice aquascaping Putawaywet! We need to try to resist creating the wall every time. Great tank. Looks more natural. More of us need to get out here, or recall what it looks like on a real reef. Youve captured it pretty well!

Very nice tank, great colors.sometimes less is best! I have a hard time reaching in the 24 in. depth,I would never make it 30 in. You must have long arms. LOL:rollface:

Here's a pic of mine a few weeks ago, I recently re-did the rock work on the right side to provide more real-estate and overall a better look I think.

divein4444, When you redid the rock, did you take out the corals. or move them over to the other side, I'm afraid to move the rock and squish something!
