After trying and waiting for many months to get my black osc. pair to host the RBTA. It ended up with a failure.

So today, I give this gigantea carpet a chance.

After 10minutes into the tank

After 5 hours...

And the clown pair didn't look at it at all....so i think i will end with another failure of hosting...

BUT...after i close my light...this is what i see!!

The male already do the hosting, but not the female
I hope the female will host soon....

hopefully..they will expand more tomorrow and be healthy

and i need remove RBTA from the tank right?

Maybe it's not expand yet, so it looks a bit like Haddoni

It is a Gigantea. Good luck with it. It is very beautiful but track record of this species is not as you already know.

he is in thailand which would make shipping much easier on the nem, i bet they have better survival rates.

My male clown in one of my tanks hosted first in a RBTA for about a week while the female kept her distance. Eventually she dove in and they both hosted in that nem for a number of years. They had virtualy ignored the nem for over a year before the day the male just went over to it and started rubbing in it. I was quite surprised. Your female will be all over it eventually.

Now, the female seem to take over the nem
She let the male stay at the edge of the nem, but no fighting
is that normal?

looks good it looks slightly bleached but it should improve greatly with time.

i want one just like it.

she just found it she is being selfish, she will let him in, it takes time.

Here a few updates!

Right now, both of my clowns never leave their home.
I feed the nem a small piece of shrimp, and he eats it very quickly.
Everything seems fine so far!

How big is it? Why are they so hard to keep? Sure would like to keep one but not sure if the shipped quality is up to par.
