I have two mated tank raised black false perculas. If I had to pick an anemone that they might have the best chance of taking to, what would it be?

In my experience they will go eventually go into any of them.

Large BTA is the best captive anemone choice.

Magnifica is a sure bet to be called home, but the odds are very slim it will survive. Avoid it.

I agree with traveller7..

I never have had a problem with a clown not hosting a bta. Eventually they do...

If you are asking this question you are not ready for a Magnifica.

I already know the facts of the Magnifica, I just wanted some other opinions.......

A Magnifica is already out of the question because I won't, as of yet, take the responsibility of such a beautiful animal......

My black ones took to a long tentacle and my orange ones took to the other one I have, on opposite sides of the tank.

I say skip the anemone all together, but if you decide you have to get one go with one you can reasonably care for. With your list the BTA is the only real choice. BTAs are fairly hardy and come in a million color variations. They also split, so you can trade them with friends later.

I already have a BTA that has been thriving in my tank for about 8 months. He's getting big. I've gotten him to move over the past few days and he's in the clown's territory now. They haven't gone in it, but I think they are glancing at it.....

my tank bred black ocellaris has been hosting a frilly green mushroom for 2 years now...not sure if this helps the post, but i thought id add it :)

As Scott has said, the H. Magnifica is as close as you will be able to get to a "sure shot" with the nem's you've listed. However, as you already know, they're not a great choice for captivity.

I wish you best of luck with your BTA, they should take to it before too long.

Thank you for the replies. I moved the BTA when he crawled on a baseball sized rock and moved him with the rock.

my clowns bounce bank and forth between a torch coral and a frogspawn. They took to the torch first and now will dart to the frogspawn and then dart back. In any case, I like the torch the best because they dont wander around the tank!

Good luck and sometimes it only takes some time before the clowns give in and host
