Polyp Colour

Random question. Polyp colour, when I first got this piece (it was wild) it was almost white w/blue polyps. Over time it did it's "hey I'm wild and I hate your tank" deal.. where it turned brown, and now it's finally colouring back up correctly. The piece is I'd say 75-90% white. (not bleached..but white) I'll take some pics tonight. However the polyps are still brown. Has anybody noticed any patterns or tricks linking to Polyp colour in Acropora?

It really can just vary from system to system

for instance, cali tort- I have tons of the stuff. In one system the bpolyps are the same deep blue as the body, in another the polyps are green. I can move a piece of the coral from one tank to the other and within a month, the polyps will turn the same as the rest in that system. I run the systems the same with the same lighting.

I can think of many more examples. I would say though that in your case above, as long as everythingis happy you can prolly expect to lose that brown color in the polyps eventually. wild corals can take a long time to transition to what they want to be, and it surely isnt going to be brown especially since youve already seen it otherwise.

That is the best/funnest thing about wild corals. First, not killing them, then watching them turn brown and then color up to who knows what. :)

ya for sure, I was wondering since the body (skin) colour is back to where it was when I first got it, and I'm really hoping the polyps will follow suit. A White acro w/brown polyps is hmm..interesting...a white acro with neon blue polyps is amazing.
