Polyps Galore, 70+ Colony Zoa tank

Wow! Your tank just keeps getting better and better! That clown is jus awesome too. Love the white dorsal fin.

A very beautiful tank. Do any Bangii babies survive for long in the DT, or do they have to head downstream to survive?

my god, jaw dropping tank and colonies.. Everything seems to be flourishing and growing like weed.. And no single polyp or anything, everything is like a colonies...

Oddly enough when the father releases them he swims right up to the over flow and spits em out, always happens at night so I've only witnessed it once.

Thanks ctx! So far I can definitively say I have had more growth with my Radions than my halides, I'm loving them big time!

Have you ever had a nudibranch problem? Ive been dipping my zoas once a week for 2 months and they still pop up at night in my tank. Do you think the harlequin shrimp eats these things because the 2 wrasses I have dont.

hello hopefully im not too late to get in on this post..first of all thanks alot..imma try to do this feeding ASAP..as i have invested in alot of zoo's and they are being shipped to my house in a few days..and i have some colonies..really kinda love them..question would be..could I do this feeding without a moonlight..i have a tek 6 bulb. and 2 reefbrite leds attached to my fixture..what would u suggest for the night time light? and was gonna spot feed..becuz my tank is farily new so the broadcast feeding may make my levels rocket in ways that would be bad..so gonna be safe with spot feeding my zoas..reason i wanna do this is i paid alot of money pretty much for 2 polpy zoo frags..and wanna try to grow them as quick as i can..so gonna try this feeding 2-3 times a week? right any help would be much appreciated..

I had nudies about 3 years back when I was first starting, ever since I have always maintained a healthy wrasse population (Notibly Halichoeres sp.). The harlequins will certainly not go after the nudies as there obligate feeders on starfish, what sort of wrasses do you have in the tank?

Nudies are painful to get rid of because of the egg cycle, just takes a bit of work and then thourough inspections to any new colonies added to the tank.

This is so inspiring. Spell that right?

I'm a cell bio major not an english major:hmm4:, I couldn't spell to save my life haha. Thanks for the comment!

From the hours of like 11-12pm keep only the reefbrites on (If there actinics) and feed then. Make sure you are keeping up with the water changes, single polyp frags are extreamly melt prone. I would start the regiment @ 1-2 times per week and progress from there, if you are seeing good results and a lack of pest algae increase the feed.

I have a green coris and a mystery wrasse. I see the green coris pick at the rocks but never the zoa colonies. I would do a quarantine tank but im scared everything would melt due to the lighting change. Not sure they would like going from 100% AIs to some power compacts.

I ordered potassium permanganate as a last resort. Ever had any experience with using that as a dip? Its supposed to kill the eggs too.
