Pooky's 300

True Kenney, you do have some AWESOME fish in there no doubt!~

It will be nice to see things fill back in for you!!!

Thanks Dave, I needed something to keep me interested in the tank until it's ready for sticks again. The refilling process has started so we shall see how it all progresses :)

A temporary situation...think of it as a semi blank canvas for you to fill :D (And it will fill quickly with CFM coming up!)

CFM is perhaps the answer. But I bet the friends I have made over the years will come through first and often :)

Not the clearest pic but I thought it was a nice flashing pic.

I was thinking as a pick up point, not as a purchase place

Nice photos Kenny. Do you think the 1.4/50mm is worth the extra over the 1.8/50mm? Your picts sure look nice to me.

Dan, I can't remember the exact price difference between the 1.4 and 1.8, but I do remember my thought after finding out was that I should have gotten the 1.4. For some reason, I had the idea that the 1.4 was much more when I was shopping for the lense. The 1.4 is faster, obviously, but also better built. It's made out of glass instead of plastic. The 1.8 feels almost like a toy.

Yeah, when I held the 1.8 it felt like well, like a piece of plastic. But the price difference is $250ish ($100ish vs. $350ish). Looking at the online comparisons, there is definitely a picture quality difference but ??? I used the "It's also a great portrait picture lens for the kids" excuse for the macro gotta figure out a new excuse for the 50"¦

Kenny your pics look great. What camera are you using? I have been looking in to getting a canon 50D.

Don't get me wrong, the 1.8 is a great lense. I personally just thought I would get more out of the 1.4. Tell the Mrs. that the 50mm is great for shooting your kids' sporting events :D

Thanks Brian. I am using an old school Canon Rebel XT along with the 100mm macro for coral shots and the 50mm for fish. The Canon 50D is a great camera but I think you would get more mileage out of the T1i. The T1i has HD vid capability as well, which the 50D does not. I've used both Canons and Nikons. You can't go wrong with either.

I'll have to look it to that one. I will most likely go with a Canon based on the fact that my Dad has 5 lens for them, including a 100 mm macro. I figure it will save me alittle until I can get my own.

Dan, the lineatus is a photo hog. He shows up in front of the camera wherever it is, even if I walk away from the camera and move over to the side :rolleye1:

Thanks Mark. I am still training my fish to strike the right pose like they do at LA DD :lol2: It never ceases to amaze me how they usually get their fish to swim together for the pic.

Brian, I don't have a male and not sure if I want to add one or not. I actually prefer the coloration of the females and one of them may turn anyways. I originally had a pair but thought I would try something different. But as soon as I caught them for Leo, I knew I would miss them and eventually get some more. Well, 5 months later, here we are :D

OMG Kenny, 3 Bellus females??? It looks awesome! I'm still fearing my new one after my first took a liking towards corals after 2 years. I know they are suppose to be model fish, but why do I always get the bad fish?
