Pooky's 300

Thanks guys. I lost half of the dynamic duo quite a while ago and have been hesitant to add another due to their known aggression towards conspecifics. Finally saw the tiny specimen and thought it might be a good time to try again with my fingers crossed. On the first day, the resident helfrichi found the newcomer and immediately swam next to it. They have been together on and off but no chasing at all. So far, so good :)

I love the dynamic duo! I'm going to try my hand at another pair in the new 45G cube when I get it set-up.

Sara, you definitely should. They are cool fish to watch once they get comfortable. I was lucky to have a local supplier where I can just custom order the fish and specify the size too :) I really think the size difference plays a big role in terms of whether they'll get along or fight to the death.

I had a trio I put in the 225 a couple years ago and ended up with just 1 at the end. The last one jumped to its death when the 225 cracked and I had to tranfer all the livestock into temporary holding.

This time I'm going with a pair from Divers Den so that I know they are a viable pair! They are too darn expensive to risk it again!

DD has good stuff but overpriced sometimes. From what I know, they aren't that expensive anymore. Although they are a lot closer to you :)

Their doing pretty good. Ich is gone, just waiting for the last few week of their life cycle before I add anything to the display.

That's good news, Brian. Hope everything works out. I wished I could do that with my tank but impossible with my fish list :)

So I've decided, or at least try, to take monthly FTS near the beginning of each month to document the additions, deaths, removals, color changes, and whatnot so that one can see the progress of the tank. Hopefully it's all positive, but if for some reason the FTS stopped coming, then you'd know why :o

I find that you can't beat their warranty and customer service! Yes, being closer to me helps too :fish1:

Yes, I've noticed the price as come down a bit on pairs of those as well. Need to get that cube up and running!

True statement indeed, although I've never bought from them since I don't need to. I am fortunate enough to have found a local supplier who's just as reliable and trustworthy but not as pricey, which is a good thing since the tank has gone fish dominated recently :)

Looks like things are moving along nicely for you Kenney! I think the monthly FTS's are a good gauge for any of us. I think I just may have to do this myself???

Glad to see a FTS up even if it's a little more barren than before.... At least you're hangin tuff!~

Thanks Dave. It's only "barren" in terms of corals. But the fish is a different story. Now, I don't want anyone calling the fish police on me

I really like seeing you posting pictures again Kenny

Me too, Mark. I think it's another hobby that's just enjoyable as reefing, if not more, because it allows for much more creativity and requires much more thought.

Now that I have begun my recollection process, first thanks go out to Dan, I will be taking more pix of the new corals to document their growth. They won't be colonies, but at least they are doing well so far.
