I'll be posting an update on Monday when I'm back home!

I wished I was on vacation. Need to get away bad.

Thanks Stacie. It's one of my few favorite Montis that's going to be a keeper in the tank.

That color is insane!

Thanks M. It's got great colors. If only it could take a bit more light. For some reason, it bleaches out even on the sandbed so it's kind of hiding beneath the eggcrate in the prop right now.

Coral for the day. I thought this was a cool color progression on this one. It didn't do anything for over 2 years but sure has changed a lot in the last 3-4 months.

Funny how some of the most intensely colored corals actually do better under lower light.

Unfortunately, it makes it that much harder trying to find the right spot for all these corals. Still trial and error after all these years.

how deep is your tank? Is the elite covering the entire depth?

The tank is 36" deep. No, the Elites do not provide enough coverage. I am having a steel light rack made to house an additional 4x60" T5's, which will provide front and back light coverage.

Kenny - do you think the Elites would cover a 30 inch width?

Well, it covers up to 36" at the sandbed in my tank just fine. But higher up, the coverage is less, obviously. I have them at about 8" above the tank at this point and will probably keep them at that height once my light rack is finished. I think for a true mixed reef that's 30" deep, these will do great. It really allows some areas for lower light corals. However, for a tank that's predominantly for high light corals, the areas in the front and back near the top do not get enough light. That's where the T5's will come in handy once they go up.

I forgot what did you do in your garage for ventilation and humidity. I remember you put insulation on the garage door but did you put any fans or a AC?

How ya been Eric. We need more updates on your thread, man!

I didn't really have to do much for ventilation/humidity since humidity is not an issue out here. Most of the year, it's around 20+ to 30+ percent only. Even during the few hot and humid days we had in the summer, it only got up to about 60-70%. The only thing that resembles ventilation is a small portable fan that I put up against a side vent to blow air out. It's on most of the year. I have an indoor/outdoor thermometer/hydrometer and the only drastic difference is the temp. Humidity is pretty much the same.
