New setup hopefully will be a 8X5X2' that I am praying on otherwise a 6X4X2.5 for a couple years! They will be just live rock, tangs, and the sharks

I've always wanted to get into sharks. maybe in my future tank I might get a Brownbanded Bamboo Shark....which would be my dream!!! what do you think is the minimum tank size for a BBS?

For a full grown Brown Banded Bamboo shark, you will need atleast 350 gallons. Despite what others say, let me assure you a 350gallon system will be needed.

Like brenden says, a full grown bamboo should have at least a 6' long tank that is around 30-36" wide minimum and 2' of height. Bigger in this case is obviously better. this is from my research but not facts: a bamboo will have a much faster growth rate than the port jacksons and will grow from 12" to 30" in a year and a tank that size will be needed fast. My friends bamboo shot to 2' in 6 months. The port jacksons "reach sexual maturity around 3' and can take up to 8 years to get that big...."

what about a Freycinet's Epaulette? Scott W. Michael's book "Aquarium Sharks and Rays" says that they only reach a maximum length of about 2'.
