Post your Atlantic/Caribbean Zoa pics

I keep mine around 77-78. The spot I collected the shallow water zoos will hit around 85 in the summer. The deeper spots (with the rics) probably stays fairly constant year round. Never checked the temp, but I would guess 70 to 75.

that's interesting about the temperature. i thought the waters were colder than that...i've never really had success keeping florida zoanthids in my reef at 78-80 degrees. florida rics thrive in my tank though...

That's surface temps. The zoos I collected were in about 2 feet of water in the flats around 7 mile bridge. No rics that shallow. I've seen a few individual polyps around the 10 feet mark in a couple of places. I may go back when I'm down there again to see if there are any zoos in the same area. The deeper water where the rics are won't hit 85 degrees.

I have all my dives logged on my computer. It does get to 85 degrees.

WOW this is so cool !
I envy you guys that can dive and get this stuff legally yourself !
Won't be able to do that here in Kansas :/

i normally snorkel by myself in the keys but this last time i went with a dive boat and saw florida rics in about 3 feet of water. huge colony. 30+ ricordia polyps i stopped counting at 25. they were bright green too. i didnt see any zoas though.
