Post your rare frag pic for the MARS swap April 16

BTW Rob, I have 2 frags of it now so I'm keeping one :)
Is that about how yours looks? Yours probably looks nicer, my bicolor blenny had this one for lunch while he was still in my tank. It's made a great comeback.

I was wondering why it was so beat up looking :) Under my 10k's it has the real bright green highlights. I have a frag at work under 6700k PC and it has Pink highlights and green. I have never seen a coral show such different colors under different lighting. I think it should be the JusReefins LE Rainbow Chalice" :) HAHA

Rob,

The "JusReefins LE Rainbow Chalice" has turned a solid ORANGE in my tank. Doesn't look like Mothra's pic at all. Go figure.

That's why it's a Rare LE LOL HAHAHAHA

I don't know about you but I have never seen an Orange Echino!

I think VA_Reefman had/has an orange one, but some people just have everything...

ok sorry to sidetrack the thread!

How's a green/red Lord's frag? 2 Baby polyps. Also I'll be bringing some really blue tip Tenuis frags and a couple of my Abro frags.

mine are both orangeish red. maybe you should rename it the jus reefin rare le chameleon chalice :)

Lord frags would, of course, be considered rare.
And the abrolhensis would depend on which color morph/lineage.
See you there Steve!-Jim

Nice bright Green with blue tips Abro. Pic is a little to much blue but you can get a idea. Bad picture with 20K's.

That pic was before the stn. Now I have basically 2 of main branches with a few small branches. John has/had a bigger piece then I have.

How about some "pink rimmed people eaters"? These have been in my tank for over eight years but am just now starting to circulate them. I originally purchased them at some LFS. Note the dual row of flesh (upper) and pink (lower) colored tentacles.

Thanks.

Wow, those sure are pretty. What lighting are they under? I'm trying out the new Catalina 20k bulbs for my softie/lps tank and i think it does ok for zoo color. BTW, what's your favorite single bulb MH brand/color? Single ended.
Thx-Jim

Jim,
I have five DE 250-watt Hamilton 14k Kelvin MH and 880-watts of super actinic VHO currently over my 240-gallon. This creates a really nice "white" light look with decent coral effervescence. I may be switching to 20k Kelvin but not sure of my ability to handle all that blue. ;)

I can't help you out too much with the single ended bulbs as the last one I used over my tank was the Iwasaki 6500's. :D Been using DE ever since.

So, do my paly's get me into the rare category or do I need to look for something in the stick form? Keep in mind that these regularly sell for $25. per polyp (wouldn't have asked if it weren't for this fact). I will be bringing some SPS as well as some of my monster green Frogspawn. I had to make some room in the tank so I have plenty of the later. ;)
