ps Karl: no i can get it pretty easily. a couple of locals have it i'm just waiting for it to color up a little.

Sweet! I guess it's not so hard to get, afterall:hmm2:

Did you notice the rainbow monti was added to the LE list this past weekend?

I agree with Rob on the superman monti. I like the other montis too but that's the one to bring for the "rare".-Jim

I don't know, Jim. If I threw in one of my superman frags, I'd change the swap to the NBA draft format:lol:

Certain pieces deserve more ping pong balls. j/k

When you think about it, this thread is like the pre-draft workout for us to view, like scouts:lolspin:

reefnutz - Let me know when the 'side trading' thread is started because there are definitely things I'm looking for and I have a whole bunch more frags those 7 or so I posted on this thread.

I'm specifically looking for a small frag of oregon tort, but haven't scored any yet that looks really nice.

PS I wonder if blue a.austra with baby blue polyps would quality as 'rare'??? How about blue/teal a.gomezi with blue polyps?

Scott

BTW, a couple Acro-sitions from this Sunday (species speculations welcome. may be fragging these for the swap as well):

Any IDs?

soooo...i went to frag my green ringed favia(see pg 1/my gallery for pics) last night. the fragging went perfectly fine...so i thought. i ended up fragging a large 2x3 inch piece off because of the swap and for a side trade...i wake up this morning and what do i find? almost the entire frag is dead. there are a few spots where you can see flesh still...but not many. the mother colony is alive but damn if i'll be taking anymore frags off that piece for awhile. lol. i'm hurting from this one. :( stupid fragging.

Man Bro you have bad luck with fragging. How are you fragging them? I have such good luck with fragging LPS.........me knocks on wood now! I would be ****ed too for losing a sweet piece like that. I have the LE favia I am going to frag hopefully it goes well!

yoshiod9,

Like Jus Reefin said, dremel works very well to store if very thick or to saw straight through. I've seen pics on cvreefers.org of folks successfully frag'n favia with a bandsaw!!

In the future you might want to consider doing a brief iodine dip just to make sure the edge tissue doesn't get infected.

Sorry to hear about your loss man.

Scott

i did the iodine dip as well! lol. perhaps it's just time to invest in a freakin dremel. geez. it's irritating to have this happen to my prized specimens, ya know?

Rich, nothing too special about that piece, just a nice morph of green/purple edge cap.
Yoshi, you may also want to figure out how to keep lps frags in good flow an away from the bottom and potential irritants like mulm, hermit crabs etc...
May I humbly suggest fragsicles?-Jim

rich (reefgeek), if you have a frag of that prostrata available for our prior transaction lmk ;)

Rich,

The colony on the left kinda looks like A. loripes and the one on the right maybe A.valida? Hard to tell by the pics...

Watch those zoos on your rock work as any coral, and especially new colonies and/or wild caught, don't tolerate being irritated by other corals too well. I've almost lost a colony of chesterfieldensis because the lower part got stung by some zoos. Dang softies.

Some more interesting SPS frags for consideration:

Green polyped encrusting bali tricolor

Joe tattoo, hard to tell, did it get sold to you as a particular species?
Any clearer pics with more colony structure would help. Thx-Jim
