Potters angel owners

Had mine about two years. First in a 90 and now a 265. It was about 2" when I first got it, now about 3" and very chubby. Important to have lots of live rock for them to graze on while they decide whether to eat frozen. I did not see mine eating at LFS, but it took to prepared foods quite quickly. Is a picker, though not a coral eater in my tank.

I don't have one anymore since I have a smaller 25 cube, but I had two in the past each for 2 years at seperate times. Lost both to the two tank moves I had.
1. Both were 2-3"
2. Frozen and pellets
3. 75 gallon
4. NA
5. Each for 2 years
6. Both grew to about 4-5"
7. No eating that I knew of

I've had mine about 4 months haven't had any issues with him eating, got him from a local reefer and he was already eating mysis, which I feed mine pe mysis and spectrum pellets, I haven't noticed and coral damage so far , he's in a 245 gallon currently, with all sps some favias and one big clam

I just got 3 potters (1 from LA, 2 from DD) a few days ago. One is 3.5", one is 2.5" and one is 1.5" They are in a 20 long QT for another 2-3 weeks, but will go in a 90 fowlr that has 2 pearlscale bfly's and a male pylei.
They aren't strong eaters yet. Interestingly the smallest one eats the best. I feed them prime reef, hikari spirulina brine, PE mysis, frozen blood worms, omega one spirulina flakes, NLS pellets.
The biggest one chases the others a little, but nothing too bad.

2. What was he eating when you got him? - Nothing prepared, only nibbled at LR for first 2 months
3. What size tank? - 110
4. What is he eating now? - Now eating Nori, and frozen mysis and brine
5. How long have you had him? - about 6 months now
6. Current size? - still small, maybe about 2.5 now though but getting chunkier
7. Did he eat any corals? - No coral damage that I've noticed, all sps in the tank though

I think it's a must to have an established tank with lots of LR for them to graze on, if its a new tank and they dont take to prepared foods immediately they'll likely waste away.

I'm thinking about picking one up for my next acquisition. When I had my Kole Tang in QT, I used New Era feeding rings for nourishment. He took to them immediately; I typically kept a ring in the tank for a few hours so he could graze. Made QT super easy for him. Wondering if the same method would be useful with a Potter's Angel?

That has always been my experince with Centropyge - 1 1/2 inches is the optimum size for getting them to eat...

Get a healthy one that is eating already - I recommend DD, both of mine were eating in the QT within hours of arrival (So was my copperband butterfly from DD).
Great fish, lots of personality-one of my favorites.

I pulled the trigger and got myself a potters. He/she is only around 1 1/2 inches give or take. He/she is eating like a pig. Fresh then frozen clam and mussel, mysis, that frozen angel food (can't think of it off the top of my head), and pellets. Also picking at the algae on the liverock. I'm hoping for the best!
