Potters Wrasse

My wife picked up this beautiful wrasse at the store tonight. My first thought was potters wrasse but after it colored up in the tank I began second guessing myself since all of the potters ive seen are green mostly. Fed some mysis cyclops and flake tonight without luck, will try again tomorrow...

Potters wrasse for sure. One of my favorite fish. I have had bad luck keeping them. Active and eating for a couple days, then don't see them alive again.

i had one for 2 years - my favorite fish in my tank. until that little bugger you have in the background started to get older and more established and began wreaking havoc which caused my potters to jump. im referring to you atlantic blue tang - i got mine when he was about 3" and still in juvie coloration. the larger and more established he got the more aggressive he got. he actually stressed a radiant wrasse to the point of jumping as well and caused my regal to stop eating. they can be nasty little devils once they start to grow and get established. keep any eye on him. and definately get you tank covered! i have mine covered now and wish i had done it from the very beginning. My potters loved to eat PE mysis by the way.

Thanks everyone! The atlantic hasnt shown any agression but to my amazement my other three wrasses did.... NEVER had any problems adding wrasses before but.for whatever reason every single one of my wrasses didnt like the potters. Theyve all left him alone as of this morning thankfully. He out swimming up and down the glass with my richmondi, but still no luck getting him to eat...

Yea no luck. My richmondi prefers krill, no luck there either. Maybe ill try soaking some in garlic along with the usual selcon.

Ive had mine at least a year. First began takin frozen cubed cyclops... Then mysis... And now loves pellets. It has always passed up flake foods when all my other fish will eat that. Good luck! Nice!

** maybe try a bottle of the reef nutrition live tigger pods... Normally I wouldn't add those to the display during light hours so they have a chance to spread in the tank without being eaten but in your case it might stimulate a feeding response from your new fish. Follow that up with the cyclops again. Hth

If he's not eating PE Brand Mysis, I'd try live adult Brine allowed to eat a little Selcon for a few minutes...Just to entice him to eat....
