Yes that's right, I took the plunge today and gave in when my LFS told me complete your tank with 6 different species of Tangs...

I now have the Tomini Tang, Cheveron Tang, Kole Tang, Blue Tang, Yellow Tang, and Mr Powder Blue Tang.

He's my favorite, as he appears to be the most graceful of the tank; he's also the largest so no one said anything when he came to the family.

These are semi-large videos so be patient !!! It is worth the wait....

Hi Kim,

I'm bad, I don't have a QT on had and I'm taking a calculated risk. I hope luck is on my side with my last fish.

Psionicdragon,

I have a 72 gallon reef with about 90 lbs of live rock for them to seek refuge and sleep. I picked up most of my healthy tangs at Great Bay Aquarium in San Lorenzo, the EAST BAY...

how is your tomini tang doing? i really find them very interesting since they are the only tang with an acute dorsal fin

Mike my Tomini is doing great, he is the smallest of the group but he's the most intelligent of them all.

For example, he is the only one that will go to my short tentacle plate and pull out his food to feed; the other tangs watch and wait for scraps but never try it themselves.

The tomini will occasionally pick at food near the Cheveron tangs area and that will upset the Cheveron and he'll nudge him out of the way.

In other words, the tomini likes to get into things and intice the others but they never fight.

I've heard some LFS were getting them in but they were dying shortly thereafter.

I guess I was lucky and got a tomini from a good batch...

wow you've go a lot of fish in there

big sump/skimmer?

your tank looks beautiful BTW

but any future plans as some of those fish will get fairly large

lololol, u crack me up .. you can have this STUNNING tank with a ton of fish.. lolololol.... i want your tank.. ya they sure are pretty those PWDR Blue tangs... i love your tank (and your fish choices)

Mike,

Perhaps I missed it, what size tank do you have? It is gorgeous. You've given me a theme idea for my next tank...

Ok, it plays with quicktime. I counted about 15 fish, and I didn't even see all of the tangs. Can you post your fishlist and equipment?

Wow, I'm surprised you haven't been visited by the Tang police...

Have you had any issues with them nipping at each other?

not to be critical there bud but come on,,, 15 years experience?? haven't you researched a bit about tank size, aggresion, bioload and TANGS!! thats just nuts! and no QT for the powder blue! were is your ''calculated risk''? sorry, but this really saddens me that theres tanks out there like this. good luck [R.I.P fish:( ]

I will have 12 - 14 fish in my 8' 240 gallon once its ready. 3 will be Tangs and I am actually thinking of selling one of my Hippo's to keep tank load light. So that would be 2 Tangs [and I am still thinking I'll have too much. ]Only other large fish is a Raccoon Butterfly ,a couple of Wrasses biggest growing to 5" all the other fish are under 4". I just can't see putting all those large fish into one tank. Its not healthy for the fish and in the end will prove to be a lot of work and wasted money for you
