power backup

Okay, guys, got another question for you: what sort of power backup would you suggest for a 72gal mixed reef?

I know a small generator is a preferred option but, living in city on the 3rd floor of a multi-unit apartment building, I don't think my neighbors would appreciate the noise, no matter how quiet.

I figured an APC unit would do the trick with a heater and 2 powerheads connected to it. Let the debates begin!!!

Um...any other suggestions? Again, a generator is not an option as I cannot even use a barbeque on my porch let alone a gas powered generator...

If a generator is not an option youre going to have to use a APC unit.... It should get you by anyway.

Just run a airstone in the tank and sump. This should keep things going till the power returns.

A neat trick would be to get the air pump to go on when the power goes out.

added a 36 dollar deepcycle battery from walmart, i can run my 35 watt main pump for ~20 hours.

If it came down to in i can always add extra batteries if needed
