power heads for 6' 220

I am setting up a 6' 220 tank. It is drilled ont he end so 2 long sides and 1 short side are visable. I would like to avoid power heads on all but the drilled end panel.

Any suggestions on how to get strong flow at the far end of the tank?

So Im pretty well limited to either vortechs or tunzes?

there are plenty of powerhead makers out there but I think that vortechs and tunze the top in their areas. I prefer tunze because my ph's are on the back panel and I need to direct the flow. In your application the vortech's would work very nicely because they just need to blow straight.

On my 315 I am using 4 tunze powerheads. 2 x 6055 and 2 x 6095 and that is plenty of power for my tank.

If you feel you need flow at the viewable end what about a Sea Swirl or Wavy Sea at the viewable end flowing back towards the overflow end? This would not work ( or at least not be the most appealing visibly) if the tank was rimless and did not have a canopy but is an option. Run your return through it to add more motion on the far end.

I have a 265 and I am using two mp40 and one mp65. I am planning on adding an other mp 60 in the future
I do havce a lot of rock in the tank

I have a 220 and use one MP40 and one MP60. It produces a nice amount of flow. The flow from the MP40 is really only effective to around the three foot mark. The MP60 can produce a nice amount of flow the entire length of the tank.

240gal (8x2x2) and i have a few sea swirls and a few old (brown) 6100 tunze pumps.

i had a MP40WES and thought my 6100 did a better flow job in my 8' tank.

the sea swirls are great for random flow in areas where normal power heads leave you wishing
