PPE's

Hey peeps if any of you find a decent deal on some PPE's let me know, I lost my avatar...

Just slowly died away.

I also have many of the priceless, "RARE", LE, TUBS, Zoaid, DOO DOO Browns for trade. Only for PPE's though!

I think fragglereef has a wild colony of 4 for $50

Those "wild PPE" are totally different than PPE.

They *are* nice though. I picked up some from another source.

I agree with Mr Ugly. Fragglereef sells not PPE but like PHE. Their PPE is much similar with PHE.

I've personally seen Fraggle reefs "wild PPE" and I must admit they look tremendously like PPE. They are not PHE because he had some PHE the day I went to his place and he did a side by side comparison and the wild PPE looked a lot nicer.

Same thing happen to me. I have gotten 3 different frags with about 2-3 polyps from 2 different people. All my other zoos are doing great except for the PPE. They tend to melt away slowing. This has happen throughout the last 2 years. I have gaven up on the PPE. Good luck finding some.

What conditions are you guys putting them in? I've herd of so many people loosing their zoa's for X reason or the other...

I've had mine for almost 6 years now, chopped, bashed, beaten, stung, cooked, & had them eaten & have yet to lose one in 4 different tank conditions.

I'd really love to know whats causing this die off if any of you could help me.

The only ones i had problems with were the reds, and the purple reds, and they have been pretty easy since the last 2 years.

Oh btw, when I said I had le's, rare, tubs, for trade, I meant thats what I call my doo doo browns. It was kinda a joke.

They are the Rare, LE, Tub Doo Doo Browns.

Do they look different from the picture posted? The one I saw has no green mouth, which is indicative of a PPE. To me, they look exactly like the PHE's I got at a frag swap. Mine didn't have the red ring, they were just deep purple with a neon green skirt. They were much smaller, of course, than PPE's, as they were of the normal Zoanthus variety, not the Z. gigantus/Protopaly variety (note-'were'-the devil rabbitfish has expensive taste in zoas and acans but never touched a single Protopaly type zoa. Are Fraggle Reef's larger like Proto's?

A side note on Fraggle Reef. I have ordered one time from Miguel, and it was a very good experience. I have never had anyone send me a thank you for ordering from us card, aside from Miguel... It was a pretty cool card/magnet, too.

BTW Rev, I'll send an email, too. I am playing around with growth rates (which are despicable for my PPE's-sorry Daffy), so I will likely cut another polyp off of my 7 polyp frag in a few weeks. We can work something out, I'm sure.

I am completely agree with gflat65. The PPE of fraggle reefs are definitely not PPE. Green mouth is symbol of PPE and easy way to distinguish PPE with other kinds of similar ones.

Just to show what they look like ina differant tank and picture these came from Fraggle reef this week.....They have been in my tank for 2 days....

Good luck Rev on your finding PPEs....I had a frag of Purple Deaths for trade for some PPEs and for now came up empty...So I switched gears and will wait on the PPEs...For the future.
I really do like these from Fraggle reef the are very sharp.

I have already had 5 contacts for the PPE's. People around here are awesome. Some want money, others want trades. I think once someone sees your post here, you'll get your PPE's.

Those are the ones I saw at Fraggle Reef. They definitely didn't have the green mouth but the resemblance to PPE was astonishing. I picked some up myself, I liked them better than the PHE's he had for sale.

It looks like they are the size of Proto's... My PHE's were pretty small.

I agree with gflat65 I have PHE and some produce pure purple while others prodcue red rings on the same colony.
