Pretty sure BTA ate my new clown......

I just got a new clown from a fellow reefer on Sunday and I am 90% sure he got snagged up by one of my beasts. He was a 9mo old juvi and has never seen a nem before let alone the 5 10+ inchers I have and didnt have a slime coat built up. My fish (Anthia, firefish, and tailspot blenny) were fine with him all night and when I woke up they were all swimming together. One of the nems was kinda small when I got home from work and he has not been seen since. Really bummed he had an awesome picasso pattern on him.

Highly doubt that a BTA ate a healthy clown. BTA stings are by far the weakest of the host anemones and I have seen small fish brush up against them without significant issues. More likely that the clown was dead/weak and the opportunistic nem ate it at that point.

My tailspot blenny brushes against my RBTA once in a while no problem. Not to say yours didn't eat the clown but I would consider other possibilities.

Check your overflow and/or sump if you have one. My clown was missing for months, I checked the sump and overflow several times and never found it. One day when I was cleaning my sump, I saw it through the bottom glass of my display, swimming in the overflow area. I tried to catch him in the overflow but couldn't, so I just pulled the overflow return pipe out of the bulkhead which drained the overflow and flushed him into the sump. Once in the sump, he was relatively easy to catch.
