Alright...here's a little one (800g)

Is that an Intelliflo VS? Looks like it but just guessing.

Here is a pic of some plumbing I did. Not for a tank but fun none the less. Got so tired of beveling pipe by the end of this (4" SCH80).

Easiest way to cut larger diameter pipes is with a miter saw with a fine tooth blade in my exp. If the pipe is too big cut half then rotate and cut the other half.

Another suggestion if you want a clean install look and need to support pipes either over head or on the ground is to use unistrut and clamp the pipe to with with rigid conduit clamps. You can get clamps to do from 3/4" all the way up to 8"

Random question: Why are some of you guys using sch 80 pipe? Just for the look?

It is...VS-3050. It's a very nice pump :)

Yea they are super nice pumps! I had been looking around to see if anyone has been using these in SW applications with any success so I guess that answers my question!

With the capabilities of these pumps and how quiet and efficient they are I am surprised I have not seen them in use more often!
I just got a new VF for the pool and am thinking when I set up my next tank I will def use one. The ease of programming along with 7 different pump speed features seems like it would make it a must have for people with bigger systems who can afford the $1200 price tag.

2k gal per hour @ 180W is super cheap.
3k gal per hour @ 500W is still super cheap.

I would agree. I use them quite a bit on smaller systems.

This thing will do almost 9000 gph at 50ft of head pressure :)

Yea its pretty crazy! The first day I had mine hooked up I was playing around with it and decided to test it out because it is only set to circulate 52,000g per day, and i put it on manual and turned it up to 120GPM( 7200gal/hr)... Holycrap, My PSI shot up to about 40-45PSI and I got scared not knowing what the max PSI the DE filter canister could take was so I backed it off. Still I was amazed at how quiet it was running at that speed.

Ok, Not the greatest, but these were pretty clean installs.

500G predator tank with a Gen 1 RK2 fractionator (insulated since the water is 52 degrees:) )

Does that check valve work alright for you?? I heard it wasnt a good idea to use that type, because it has a spring in it, which can rust and harm corals.. I believe your suppose to use the Flap type check valves.
