Procrastination sucks

So I was gonna go to lowe's to get the Velcro to get everything hung up in the sump this weeked (vortec controllers, ato) and wouldn't you know I went to check on things as I do every morning and see that the entire bottom part of my sump is flooded (love dsa stands not water on the floor ) however I freaked out and tried picking up the controllers to save them and got a nice little jolt to wake me up. Soooooo now my controllers and one power supply are filled with water so I have no circulation other than my return. Has anyone gotten their equipment wet and let it dry and used them again?

I believe if you go to Ecotechs website they sell the controller and power supply separately. Worth a shot anyways. Sorry about your morning. That sucks. On the bright side you didn't burn down your house.

you could try to dry them out and see what still works, when this happens with other electronics we stick it in a bowl of rice which sucks the moisture out quicker. I would hope the pCB's in those units are water proof like in cell phones but honestly not sure.

Saw them on the website 80 bucks is not bad I suppose but if that's new from the factory then used from a reefer should be way less

I had a vortech controller fry just by getting a little water splashed on it. You would think they would be a little more waterproof than that. Anyway you can usually pick them up pretty cheap used. If I remember correctly around $40 or so. Good luck!

Gotta love BRS ordered Friday came in today :). Tested the old RF chips and they both work fine. Up for grabs 82 bucks for the pair or 41 a piece

For future reference, the rice trick does work in most cases. That said, if the electronics were soaked in salt water, the trick probably won't work since the salt will be left behind. I've used this trick on two iPhones that got dunked and it worked perfectly. And for the haha, both were toilet dunks.

I actually did that trick with the ac adapter since it was also soaked and water was actually trapped inside the unit. All water was sucked out however when I started pondering using it again I told my self is a 50 dollar battery worth burning my house down. So I just threw it away

Where's your sense of adventure?

I guess since I am posting on here I should mention that I need a new power supply for the second driver but am to cheap to pay the 50 for a replacement as I think that is to high. Anyone know an alternative?
