Prodibio BioKit - Will start on Monday evening

I had stop using the Prodibio for about a month. Then I changed my light schedule on the MH to turn on noon to 8:00pm. The temp when from 79 to 81 during the day since I don't run the A/C low when I am not home.

Then I used NSW instead of making water. I notice RTN and tghe corals started turning brown or pale. I did a 15 gal water change on Friday of last week and another water change on Wednesday morning at 1:30. I was so concern that I could sleep.

Thursday night, I notice that the corals are looking better and I added the BioClean.

Two water changes in less than a week and added BioClean, the corals look better. I still have the MH coming on at noon but I open the canopy doors and run a fan on the tank during the day when I am away.

I plan to switch to complete T5 within the next couple of months and I have ordered a Octopus PRO 250 Needle Wheel Protein Skimmer. I plan to reduce my energy usage to offset the power monsters called Florida Power and Light.

TOTM uses Prodibio and he has a good skimmer. I can't afford the Bubble King so I will get a knock-off.

your adding way to many variables for this to be a viable test of wether or not Prodibio is actually the cause of the improvment in your tank. Your tank looks great but, your using NSW that adds tremendous variable on water consistency and quality. Stay the course with mixed water, and keep variables down.

New Skimmer

New Skimmer

I bit the bullet and ordered an oversize skimmer for my system. After doing some research, I noted that most of the TOTM and other successful SPS tanks use efficient and oversize skimmers.

I ordered the Coral Vue Octopus Pro 250 for my 90g setup. My budget for the month is exhausted. I have to work more OT to make for the expense.

where di you buy this skimmer at. I have been looking for one

The skimmer arrived UPS. The packaging was very good. My pump came with a clear housing. I will post pictures later.

I can't install it unitl next week. I am leaving for vacation today and the last thing I will do is tamper with the sump.

I just ordered a 30 pack of BioClean and a 12pack of reefbooster and it should deliver today. I want to start dosing Bioptim and Biodigest first. I am going to dose both Bios each week for 6 weeks and then go every two. Once I am at the 6th week, I will then start dosing booster.
My question is this????

Will one ampule each be enough for a 100 gallons of total water volume? I met the creator of this at MACNA this year and he said and I can't remember which it was, but he suggested going two ampules of either digest or bioptim and then one of the other each week and then booster every two......

Suggestions??????

1 of digest and 2 of optim most likely, I dose 8 optims to 3 digests, you need more optim than digest always. HTH

Why are you dosing so often with the Bioptim and Biodigest? I was dosing every two weeks and the results were very good? The instruction on the package suggest biweekly treatment of the Bioptim and Biodigest.

One thing I have learned in the hobby, bad things happen fast and good things are slow in coming.

I am not after doing some reading on many forums I am going to follow the instructions. The inventor of Prodibio told me this was the way to do it when I spoke to him at MACNA this year.

1 Digest to start off Week one
2 Bioptim the second week
and alternate.
After 6 weeks introduce booster every week there after....My tank is 100g.

That's cool. Please keep us posted. I don't think there is one way of doing this product.

I dose 8 optims

reefkoi, Have you considered using the 10ml pro-pack versions of the Bio-optims? I think it may be more cost effective in your case.

Ok I have read that some are using the KZ amino's along with this product. I was told by aquarium specialty to go easy on those as they are quite powerful. When and how much of the amino's are you all dosing? Daily, weekly? I also have coral vitalizer along with reef roids......

I just dosed my first amp of digest on this past Thursday, should I start dosing KZ of anything? Just curious as to when you guys started dosing this product.

Also I see people mention that they use digest and then fuel the source with Vodka, sugar and vinegar.... What is the mix for that too to tank volume and schedule for that dosing? Again, curious.....

Yeah I do dose the pro Optim and Boost, I just didnt want to cause confusion, 8 is the calculated amount so i am OD'ing slightly with PRo but it is much faster and a little bit cheaper.

I was introduced to PRO at the last MACNA, the guy that always runs the Prodibio booths isn't the inventor or Prodibio though, he is the President/CEO I believe because he always talks about "so and so back in France that developed our product"
The language barrier is a little tough, but hes a heck of a nice guy and his assistant that made the trip last time was pretty hot to say the least!:eek1:

I agree I was at the Macna in Pittsburgh and spoke with him and I second the assistant. However as you said the accent was so tough. He was cool. He gave me and my buddy a ton of samples....

I would not use any AAs or the booster or any other additives that would introduce nutrients if you are trying to deal with any undesirable algae. I would use the digest and optim along with good maintenance until everything looked good . Once the problems have been corrected consider exploring the use of these other products depending on the tanks needs and your desires.
