Prodibio BioKit - Will start on Monday evening

I started the carbon dose about a month ago. I was doing it before Prodibio and had stopped when I started the 1st round of the stuff.

On the second around I started the vodka dosing and so far I like the results.

Are you still dosing the prodibio carbon source every 14 days? I read though several threads on vodka dosing and it seems like must people are just using V or VSV with a bacteria source.

Yes, I am using the Prodibio source. On that week, Friday, I am out of town for the weekend. Therefore, I don't add v until Monday morning.

I removed the MH. Going T5. Still dosing

Update: I have removed the MH lights from my tank. I am not completely T5. The corals are looking good. I am still dosing Prodibio BioClean biweekly.

I completely mis-calculated. I'm actually in my 4th week now. Not sure how I added up 6 weeks in my last post. Maybe because I used 6 vials I thought 6 weeks? Anyway... Here are some updated shots.

How many people are happy with this product? Looking to try something along these lines soon, but want some personal feedback on how well the Prodibio works.

I run one. I like the results after using Prodibio since May 2008. My corals have better colors and my tank looks good overall. I purchased a new skimmer that is pulling more slim.

I have also gone completely T5 to cut my energy cost.

Is it okay to run a phosphate reactor with Prodibio?
What about carbon?

Both are fine...

When starting Prodibo can I use Amino acids, trace elements and other coral foods besides reefbooster while starting the initial 6 weeks. If so what do you recommend.
Thanks in advance

Depends on your tank. If your tank currently is 'clean' and nutrient poor, then you can use all that right off the bat. If it's a little 'dirty' or nutrient rich, don't add any 'food' products until after the initial 6-8 week nutrient reduction phase using only bioptim and digest.

Project Reef, thanks for the help, So no food products if the tank is a little dirty or nutrient rich, but ok to use amino acids and trace elements.
Thanks again

Project Reef, or anyone that can help me. I just purchased BIOPTIM ,BIO DIGEST,REEF BOOSTER , Elos AA's and ELOS PRO SKIMMER, I Have quite a decent bioload on my 55 but a big skimmer that has been running for a while. I wouldnt say its very high nutrient system but def. not low. Which order do you all recommend, and also how long starting off with each do you all recommend. I will be documenting this through out the entire process. Any input is helpful. Im a dosing dummy.

IU2468, I would lay off the trace elements and the aminos as well for the first 6-8 weeks if you consider your system currently being nutrient rich.

x2uranium, for your system, I would just stick to the original 6 week nutrient reduction phase followed by the 'normal' routine. If you begin noticing your corals lightening up too much, then go ahead and start adding nutrients to the system (reefbooster/aminos/etc.). Hope this helps.

I just read through all of this at once... Lots of great information and experiences here... Makes me want to try this out in my 29 sps tank... I was looking at old photos of my tank and a lot of my corals don't have the same great color that they use to have... It's like I bring them home and they look great, but slowly loose color....

6 week Initial Nutrient Reduction Phase:

Week 1:
Wednesday
BioDigest 1amp per 50 gallons (This higher overdose is for the very first day only, some people even do 1amp per 15 gallons)

Saturday
Bioptim 1amp per 50 to 100gallons

Week 2:
Wednesday
BioDigest 1amp (treats up to 250 gallons)

Saturday
Bioptim 1amp per 50 to 100 gallons

Week 3:
Wednesday
BioDigest 1amp (treats up to 250 gallons)

Saturday
Bioptim 1amp per 50 to 100 gallons

Week 4...,5...,6....

...continue this process for apprx 6 weeks until nutrient levels drop. Notice you are dosing the ampoules once per week, just on different days during the same week. Do NOT use Reefbooster during this initial 6 week nutrient reduction phase.

After week 6 Pintail Nutrient Reduction Phase, your 'real' more long-term dosing regimen begins.

Nutrient Reduction Long-Term maintenance Phase
Week 1: BioDigest (1 amp treats up to 250g)
ReefBooster

Week 2: BioOptim (1amp treats apprx 50-100gallons)

Week 3: BioDigest (1 amp treats up to 250g)
ReefBooster

Week 4: BioOptim (1amp treats apprx 50-100gallons)

....so on and so forth.

Per this regimine and also watching the youtube video. I have a question about the dosage my system is aprox 70 gal in total vol.

1 - amp = 1 vial???

also.. If my system is that small how do you go about storing the other part of the vial (un-used portion)??? Going by this routine I can arpox only use 35% of an entire vial???

x2uranium,

amp is short for ampule which is the same as vial.

I use biodigest and the directions says "UP TO" 250 gal. The dosing regimen above says either "up to 250 gallons" or "50 to 100 gallons" so your 55 total water volume would fall within the 1 amp range. You should be using the entire amp.
