Prodibio

Hi Simon,

in my gallery you could find 2 pics of my reef tank. But in a few days I will add some new pics.

Another update for those who have followed.

I believe that my troubles began when I started the Reefresh line. Despite stopping all products and doing many large water changes, I am still losing corals. :( 3 months after the signs of stress and some corals are slowly fading away. There has been no rhyme nor reason to how the corals reacted. Some affected badly at the beginning are doing good while others not so affected are dying and the way they STN is unlike anything I have seen before which also correlates with the strange tissue and PE I had when they first showed signs of stress. Has been a tuff pill to swallow.

Hi,
Very interesting stuff.
Is it me or does it seem that most people using prodibio have problem tanks to begin with and are looking for a magic cure.
Most of the photos shown are not that breathtaking . Has anyone used this stuff on a reef that looked great to begin with , and have better results because of it?
Please lets see somemore photo's,
Frank

Its you.............. ;) Very few posting in this thread had a problem tank. There are no magic cures and most using probiotics are tweaking.

Yeah, Most of the problems that arise are from constant tweaking. I know that I can never settle on a dosing pattern. I am always taking it to the absolute maximum of what can be done. I noticed complications when I started using the Polylabs Amino Acids. I also have run into some bleaching when using ZeoSpur. I dont think that people who have a unstable system should introduce anything much less Prodibiotics or Zeo.

Pics will be coming soon. I am waiting for my New bulbs.

its you dude. I can say that I had my share of problems that all new tanks go through, cycling issues. I was not looking for a magic cure but rather a natural approach to a low nutrient system.

I have stuck the course with prodibio and the results are finally paying off. The tank is now 5 months mature.

Todays test:
pH 8.05, alk 9.9, temp 77, ca 490, PO4 .015, sg 1.025.

I clean the glass about once a week now instead of daily. There is massive corraline growth on the foam wall and I have not had any coral lossess in months since correcting alk swings. All zoos looked great until three days ago when it looked like several colonies had been eaten by somthing. Still trying to figure this one out.

I'm very happy right now. Colors are brilliant!

tatoofr,

I don't have problems in my tank. I just want to make sure that I keep my nutrients low and I also want to improve my colors.

Good thought, but I have found and removed those before. The sundials did not cause the kind of damage that occured with these in one night to boot. I had 4 or so colonies with partial damage to them. Maybe its a fungus. I rmoved the pieces today and they smelled foul. I trimmed back the dying sections and dipped the zoos. Will see what happens.

Iwan (if i am not mistaken) has a new tank and runs only Zeo now...

To be acurate - he runs zb4 instead of prodi 3 plus the previous korallen - zucht elements - early days I know - but the color doesnt yet match the old tank on prodi - to my eye at least - sure it will in time though.

Looking for feedback

I took the plunge yesterday and dosed Prodi for the first time. No3 has been a pest for me, it was around 7 ppm for months and recently I've gotten it down to 3-4 ppm. I am in search of that totally clear result on the Salifert test kit. For today I am only dosing Biodigest and bioptim in hopes of lowering No3 to 0. I plan to dose 1 biogest and 2 bioptim in weeks 1 and 2 and the settle in at 1 biogest and 3 bioptim every other for the duration. My hope is to jump start my system. I may add 2 ml per day of Vodka after the second dose if all looks good. With my bio load I cannot imagine the need to add food, but I may also use reefbooster and maybe aminos after I get that 0 reading. I would do this only if corals lightened up too much or lost color.

Any thoughts on my plan?
