Prodibio

Thanks Melev, the doses are printed on the back of the packet but I just wanted to be sure its safe to add the whole Bio Digest and if its ok to add it all at once. Its not on the packet!!

Yes, you can add the whole amount with no problem, I use whole ampoules on 25 gallons....

but be sure to wait the full 2 weeks before adding more. 1amp for up to 1,000 L each 2 weeks, iirc. Don't exceed it in quantity or frequency...

Yeah, and get your skimmer up and running...

Ditto on what everyone else said.
Also be patient and dose correctly and make sure you are skimming good, you should see some positive results in a month I would think.

Anybody using TRACE from prodibio... Is it safe? I am confused by the conflicting info. Box says Fresh water only! but they put it in the reef kit and the title on their page mentions fresh+Marine use, however it is in the freshw. only cathegory... Strange. Thanks.

Used to be originally.

Dear Sir,

We are sorry about the confusion, our website is in the process of being updated.

Initially only Bio Trace was available for Fresh and Marine water.

But with the now common use of powerful skimmers, the dosage of Bio Trace is not always enough for Marine.

This is why we released the stronger Bioptim specifically for Marine.

But you can still use Bio Trace in salt water, altrough I would recommend doubling the doses.

I hope this answers your question.

Yours sincerely,

Just bought Prodi the system. Arrives 3/11. Will post updates.

One thing occurred to me after reading this and similar threads. It seems one of the main "selling point" of Zeo is the "mulm" produced by daily stirring of the zeolites in the reactor, constituting bacterial aggregates for coral consumption.

I am wondering whether a similar effect could be obtained using the Prodibio system by putting a Magnavore Simplicity reactor (http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_ViewI...cal reactor~action~view~idProduct~MN4111.html)
filled with Seachem deNitrate as a substrate? With these units, you "flip" the reactor chamber over, and could do so daily, to prevent clogging and (ostensibly) releasing bacteria as food.

Ay thoughts?

Just a little bit of recent info from my system.
I've been on prodibio in my 600 gal. for 2 years now.
I have always dosed optim one week and digest the next, never on the same week.
I always had P04 of .10-.20 and I also was using Rowa Phos in a reactor.

I decided to pull the GFO out and let the Prodibio work on my Phos without the GFO competing or taking some of the Prodibio out. I now dose Digest & Bioptim same day every 2 weeks.

I now have dropped to .05 after only a month! I am very happy. I guess the moral to my story here is; Let the product do what it is supposed to, don't mix products, don't mix methods, let it work and see the results :)

DOAH, the first time i play around with this stuff i get burned.
Well i thought i read that it was supposed to be dosed as well at 1 amp per 60 litres. Good thing i stopped 8 amps and decided to check here instead of dose the 15 amps i was supposed to with the 60 litre thing. Sheesh now i wonder whats going to happen since i added 8 times the normal amount?
