Hey Reef Daddy,

I do a lot of reef related internet surfing and I have a couple of questions for you. First, I was wondering if this white water occured close to your Magnesium Cholride additive? Just a thought I had.

Secondly, I saw your great pic of the prostrata in the SPS forum but I noticed that ya had little to no polyp extension. I was wondering if this is common or recent. Thanks. :)

Hi Kristen,
I havent need to dose Mg in a while, but I have been dosing KCL heavily. I am wondering if there is a connection to the CL?

The pic of the Prostrata was taken seconds after I plunked it in the tank. Most of my corals have better than usual extension although my polyps in my tank are kept in check by a very fat flame angel.

hey guys,

at work we recently got in some biological additives...they claim to clear up water and lower no2 no3...they are live bac strains...I have been feeding vodka everyday and the results are look promising. (much more so than vodka/sugar alone)

Also as a carbon source there is a product by Seachem for planted FW tanks....how would this work as a carbon source...?

I'll keep you posted...

Brain fart on my part, I meant to type potassium chloride. :)
Are you thru the cloudiness?

Flint and Eric, Nice to see ya! I would check in the Seachem forum on that carbon source. I have a friend using the Seachem potassium additive with decent results.

It's a little better, no worse for sure. I may have brought the levels up to high, I don't have a test kit. My homemade CL mix was stronger than I thought.

After 2 weeks and 2 doses of Bioclean I can see a difference. Some corals are lighter, and micro algae is almost nil. Polyp extension is much increased. However I do have small amounts of weird brown algae in the high flow areas that the tangs cannot swim in. I’ve increased feeding to my usual levels(I had reduced to lower nutrients). Next Wednesday I am going to test for No3 to see if there is a reduction. The water is also very clear again, no more white haze. I may order up some reefbooster if things look good. Honestly this is where I get leery. I wonder if I just feed my fish more/add fish if I would have the same effect.

Flint and Eric, I saw the other thread and hesitated to post and now ya know why. :) Too bad experimenting gets such a bad rap around here. Sending PM. ;)

Hai everyone, I have a 25 gallon BB tank, If i want to dose biodigest, how many drop to dose, because the spec was 1 ampule per 1000 liter. meaning my dosing 1/10 ampule. thank's

The instructions say 1 ampule for up to 1000 ltr. You can dose the whole ampoule in your tank, it is a starter colony of bacteria.

I would not dose the whole vial in that amount of water.
The directions clearly state do not overdose.

The other day I dosed Reefbooster and my water got very cloudy and 3-4 hrs later my skimmer over skimmed for 5 hrs.
Is this normal ?

When in doubt e-mail Prodibio, they are very helpful and will advise you on how to dose.

I did three days ago,, still no news .

I found when I used the form on their website it didn't send it to them until I did send and receive in Outlook. Just a thought

I dosed again today for the second time in three weeks.
Water became cloudy for 4-5 hours and then skimmer went nuts. Now the corals mostly lps are more colorful.
