Mike,
For SPS, I dip in TMPCC and FWE, then place the coral in the QT tank. When I have all the corals that I want at the time, I treat the QT with interceptor twice. After the interceptor treatment, I do large water changes a couple times a week for a couple weeks, while running carbon. If all looks well, the corals go in the display, and the QT is ready to go again. I keep the biowheels from my emporer in my sump, so the QT can be ready for fish any time it doesn't have coral in it.
Not a stupid question at all. I don't use any biological filtration. I use a skimmer, a UV, an emporer with carbon, a heater, and lots of water changes.Originally posted by rogergolf66
here is a stupid question. Do you need any bioloagial filtration if you don't have fish in the tank? QT ing corals.
You are correct, but the biowheels are removeable. I just use the emproer to flow water through bag of carbon with corals after treatments.Originally posted by rogergolf66
we are still talking about the QT tank only righ, but dosn't the emporer have biological filtration it is a bio wheel right?
Thanks for the info
