puffer and shark?

I have a 9 inch banded cat shark currently living peacefully with a lunar wrasse and a kleins butterfly. I would love a puffer but am afraid of them nipping at the shark's fins. are toby's less likely to do this than porcupines or the like?

Yes. Not really an answer to my question though. I understand sharks grow fast, etc. I know how to take care of that, but not about potentially troublesome tankmates.

But you see, that info was, IMO, very important. Compatibility issues darn near always have tank size as an issue, but since you don't feel that me asking that was helping...

I love it when ppl ask questions like this then don't take the tank size into consideration lol

Dan, I think it's pretty clear what he (and everyone who reads this thread) think. It's not a good mix to add puffers and sharks. It's an even worse idea to mix them in a small tank, and it's even worse still to forge on ahead because you want to wait until you hear an answer that suits your wants.

Puffers have been known to nip at the eyes of rays and sharks. The lion shouldn't pose a threat to the shark.

This was a very specific question asking if people knew if small puffers such as toby's engage in this behavior as much as the larger puffers.

FWIW, I can't say I've ever heard of anyone keeping a toby with a shark...I suppose WHICH toby might make a difference, but as mentioned, puffers seem to find the eyes of sharks and rays tasty (they probably look like snails to the puffers).
