Pump for water storage??

What is everyone using for transferring from water storage to tank? I have 2 55 gallon drums in my back yard that stores rodi and salt. I had a mag drive 24 pumping water into a hose to my house it burnt out though. I was thinking of buying a submersible transfer pump like they use to drain swimming pools. Amazon has some that will do 40 gal per minute for less than $100. Any thoughts on if this would work or suggestions for other pumps. I have to move the water about 50 feet on level ground.

As long as its safe for saltwater and won't leach copper,etc... (no brass fittings,etc...) then a pump is just a pump an as long as said pump has the power/speed you want then its good to go..
I'm not sure which pumps you are referring to (got a link?) so I can't comment on that specific one..
I have a feeling that the pump you are talking about might not be the best to use for saltwater,etc..

You are right. Most of the pumps don't have a saltwater rating is are not recommend for long term use. To expensive of a hobby to cheap out on.

I'm looking for 2000 GPH+ pump, preferably external. Any recommendations?

The cheap submersible pumps on Amazon are the poster children for "you get what you pay for." I just burnt two of them out doing pool maintenance (which, granted, included draining a lot of muck out of a neglected pool before replacing the liner). Even if they were saltwater safe (which I doubt they are), I would never put such a generic low-end product on an important tank function.

For a reliable external pump I would look at the reeflo brand. Plenty of models to choose from with different pressure and flow ratings, reliable industrial-style construction, and they're quite repairable if they do ever have issues. Great support from the vendor, too.

You might also consider Iwaki, Blueline or similar pumps. If you ask around your local reef forum, you could probably find someone who has put a noisy Iwaki on the shelf who would let it go for a modest price. My first reef tank used an Iwaki pump that made an intolerable hum. It is now the main pump for my water change station in the garage where I can't hear it.

I would absolutely second the recommendation of Iwaki as a brand, but with the requirement to be over 2000 gph I'm not sure if they have many (any?) pumps that would work.

If you were looking for 1,000 gph then yeah, Iwaki is the obvious choice!
