Pump shorted out

Paul,
Thank you for you ideas on why my zoas were retracting. My wife put her hand in the tank today while I was at work and it shocked the crap out of her.

After unplugging all devices 1 at a time, one of my koralias was shorting.

Anyone have any ideas of replacements? 180 gallon tank and 2 koralia 3's. Looking to make a change in flow.

since it's not my money ;) I say go with an MP10 or 40 lol. I've had similar experiences with a Koralia, didn't shock the crap out of me, but definatly felt the buzz. She didn't get hurt did she?

Just the 2 powerheads for flow in a 180? I'm running 2 of the #3's in my 58g. also got 2 of the #2's in their as well on a timer (sadly I'm kinda hoping the timer break the things like I hear about so I can say "honey... I need a new powerhead.. oh look! heres a MP10 for sale..." )

Yeah only 2 plus my return lines from the sumps.... prolly need lots more flow, but when the anemones wave in the flow my wife says... that shouldn't happen.

She was not hurt in the shocking realization of a bad pump.

Need to properly flow my tank.

Hi Ken,

If you go back with koralias, you may want to go with more and larger,

I like the eco tech mp series, especially since they will talk to each other if you have more than one.

If you are looking at more directional flow, tunze are powerful and lots of flow.

As always, being able to place pumps so their particular flow doesn't tear up the sandbed.....

Most manufacturers have placement suggestions on their home pages.

Vortechs or tunzes my friend....

Hpefully the leaking pump was the source of your issues.

A pair of MP40W Vortechs at opposite ends worked wonders in my 180G. I pur one in left front and the second in right rear. Made for amazing "racetrack" flow.
