I also have a neon green one arriving Wednesday, should I put it in the dt and see how it is or just treat straight away as a precaution?

It depends on what it looks like when you receive it. If it looks bad, you'll probably want to QT it, but you'll need another tank since the first one will be finishing up the Cipro protocol. What you don't want to do is have two gigs in the same tank until you're sure that both are fine. There are countless threads of people treating one nem, only to have another nem get it sick again. Your best bet is to have two QT tanks just in case you need to treat both of them at the same time. Your other option is to put the new one in the DT until the first one is done with the treatment and looks healthy enough to put into the DT. Then you'd swap the two nems. It's definitely going to be a juggling act.

Sorry about the poor quality pictures , it has now nearly been in qt 24hr .

Its foot has gone massive and insides are spilling out .

Sorry. It's not looking good, but I've seen ones in pretty bad shape come back. I don't think the porcelain crab is bothering the nem, but it's probably better to remove it while you're QTing it. Hopefully the Cipro will be able to wipe out its ailment. I'm guessing it's got a ripped foot that's gotten infected (inflated and not attaching), and at the same time it must have an internal infection as well (expelling dead zoox). Good luck and keep us updated.

I don't need to compound the negativity here, just keep us posted and hoping he does well for you.. i treated a mag that looked absolutely awful during days 1-3 in QT and ended up being a stunner. Do your best and hope it works out, sometimes the deck is stacked against us though..

Thank you for the replies, tbh i think I must have been seeing things with the tears as now it's foot is swelled up there are no tears, it's foot is still massive but it has attached itself to the rock now, I have just put the second dose in. Wish me luck.

No it is not normal. I would change 100% of the water and add the full dose of Cipro.
If the water is cloudy, it need to be change. Any solid in the TT should be suck out.
It does not look good. Sorry

It's dead, it stinks rotten. I wonder what happened?

It was sick.. this unfortunately happens with anemones especially Gigs & Mags.. We really don't know sadly, these are complex creatures and we still know very little about them and what ails them.

Such a shame. I think I held out too long before treating it.

Often times that is the problem to be honest.. there has been discussion here about whether it just makes sense to ALWAYS treat a newly acquired Gigantea regardless of how it looks since these issues are internal in nature. I myself acquired a purple gigantea that looked 10x more bleached than yours, never treated it, and to this day has thrived.. Sometimes it is just luck, but the concenus now a days I think around here is treating regardless isn't a bad idea.
