Purple Gig wont put its foot down ?

Tbh i have left it where it was and just done a water change and i can see some tenticles slightly moving ? Maybe i am just seeing things .
I thought it was dead so removed the egg crate and stupidly left the pump on and now its got slightly mangled , can healthy Gigs recover from this if its not on the foot ?
I hope i have better luck as the supplier was very apologetic and couldn't do enough to help , they have sent me a blue and purple as a replacement , i will receive them in the morning.

I am going out in the morning and buying a 40gal tank , egg crate, powerhead ,heater , Radion led , thermostat , ceramic rock ,auto top up , and a vat to hold saltwater .
As you have seen i already have a qt but its only 5 gallon and isnt really adequate for 2 .

I will set this up and put the new nems in straight away , i will give them a day or to to settle in unless i see anything that concerns me , i will then start treatment if i see anything , if not they will stay in there for 2 weeks until i am happy they are ok .

I hope they are healthy when they arrive here , i will upload some pictures when i get them .

Pull it out and smell it. If you can stand the smell, it's alive, if you can't it's dead. It's one of the worst smells EVER.

In terms of your QT tank, don't get a 40 gallon. Get a 10 gallon, powerhead, heater and since you were planning to get a Radion, get a Kessil A350 instead (or A150). Keep in mind that lighting is not that important on a QT. Then, multiply that QT system by two -- so you will have two separate QT systems. You don't need the ceramic rock or the ATO (you'll be doing daily water changes do it's not necessary).

The reason being is that gigs can transfer their ailments to each other, so I don't recommend ever QTing two at once in the same tank, unless you absolutely have to, for the following reasons 1) they could be at different stages of sickness, 2) you want each nem to receive the same amount of medication (since 250mg is the proven amount), 3) you can adjust the water changes based on the anemone's condition -- how much zoox it's expelling and overall look (if it looks good you can probably get away with a smaller water change), 4) you don't add the possibility of allelopathy.

why not just treat them to begin with?
I skip the treatment on my blue, then it was in my display for 3 weeks before it starts to do the whole inflate/deflate thing.

Three weeks is about right. Did you treat it or did it die?

Thank you i can hopefully get it all purchased locally , if not i will have to order online and wait for the bits i can find , the shops anywhere near me are rubbish .
If i cant get some stuff will it be an issue putting them in the dt until the stuff that's needed comes on monday ? there are no other anemones in the tank .

That's what happened to the purple , unfortunately i didn't treat it in time and it died , looking back i should have treated it straight away . Lesson learnt .:headwalls:

Absolutely stunning :)

That would be the worst case scenario, but can be done if you absolutely have to. However, since you have one QT, I would definitely keep them separated -- one in the DT and one immediately into the QT.

Ok thanks for clarifying, these have been in the same system with another 10 gigs, is that asking for trouble. I know a few of the lads that bought them and there all fine. The green one i got first was also in that system.

Obviously that's not a good way to keep them, but it's usually the most efficient way for exporters, importers, wholesalers, and LFS. I know there is one person in the UK who's QTing all of the gigs in separate containers. I saw a photo and quite extremely impressed.

There is only one person I know of that has done that and my first gig that I had for 1 year was one of them, I think maybe these have come through him aswell, there are some beauties, haddoni and gig.
There are about 3 shops that got them in at the same time, they got about 10 each.
