Purple Haddoni care

Hi,
I have a pretty rare haddoni that was at my friend for quite a while. It was moving and stinging his coral, so I bought it due to I own a 250gal aquarium. After acclimitization I put it on rocks where it can Insert its foot and be safe. I always thought it was happy until I had some problems with a magnifica and was told that haddoni likes sand and was shown some great pics of happy haddoni that are somewhat different to mine. Now I'm observing a lot more my haddoni which I don't want to lose just because i dont take any action immediately. Now I'm seeing his mouth slightly open, and no tentacles near the mouth. Is that a bad sign? Should I start to worry? Should I remove him and insert his foot in the sand near rocks? He seems ok to me, it's tentacles are very sticky, it eats and is hosted by a clarkii clown fish which never let it hungry!

It looks like the mouth is a little open. Maybe it is stress. Can you place it on the sand bed? Turn of the tank light and use flashlight to make picture.

I just turn off all flow, and get the Haddoni and place him exactly where I want him. I dig out a nice hole, and stick him in there. I notice that if they can feel the reef behind them, they will bury their foot quicker and you can turn the flow back on.

Do you ever remove the tupperware later or does that become his permanent home?

You can't remove the Tupperware away for its foot will attach to the bottom of it. But this trick can make you easily move it around to a spot you like. And you can hide the Tupperware by buryin it in a sandbed ....
