Purple haddoni

So I may have an opportunity to pick up a large purple haddoni. I'm waiting to find out when I can see it. If it looks like it does in the pics it's healthy and has been in his tank a couple months. It's cheap and has to be picked up now. I have a spot on the far left of my tank. 2/3 of my tank is empty. So I know there isn't enough room for grow out. But my 200 cube will be up and ready in a few months. It should be fine for a couple months right. If not my bta tank will be empty of bta's in a week. So if I'm in a real pinch it could be a week. I don't figure chemicals will be an issue. Flow would be, but the spot in the corner would have less flow. Besides having 2/3 of the tank empty is a drag:)

Hi,
So have you ever had a haddoni? If not be sure to read up on them as much as you can.

You should also be ready to treat with cipro, I know you said it's been in another tank for a while, but moving it could stress it, and that can sometimes bring on the deflate cycling.

They usually like a deep sand bed, low flow is alright and most seem to like it warmer. I keep mine at 83 deg. though lower temps are fine. They like a lot of light, And a stable tank is best. I don't know about the Chem warfare, and neither does anyone else REALLy know. most cases are just from observasion. some say yes and some say no. run carbon just to be safe. Don't feed for a while till he gets used to his new surroundings and Never feed silversides!,

Good job on your find, I have been looking for a purple for a while. Good luck if you get him.

Thank you:) I had a green carpet that grew to monstrous size in my care. I love them and find them easy to care for. I had to nurse mine to health a bit ahem(bought it at petco) but it didn't take much. I'm running purigen and carbon. I have a 4" sand bed already for it. When i designed the tank i built it for haddoni not knowing i would stumble into healthy gigs. This is super cheap it's the only way I could get it after buying the green and purple gigs while building the cube. BTW He just left me a message so I got dibs! Hopefully leaving soon to see it.

Ok I just heard back it's about 16" and eating great. It's at the bottom of a really deep tank. It's doing well. But I have the qt tank ready if need be.
