purple tang likes the taste

Well my dang purple and yellow tang have started liking the taste of my zoos. Its crazy as I feed them multiple times a day here at my office. I have an auto feeder coming today though to feed at night while I am gone. Hopefully this works as they have already taken a few nice zoos out over the last couple weeks. To name a few blue hornet, darth mauls and nightmares.... Seems they have high quality taste :sad2:

Omg, that is so sucky!

Worst case scenario... I have shaved the snell off of a fishing hook and fished a carnivor or two out of my aquarium...
Good luck!

Its a 60 cube with the rock work all tied together, very worse case scenerio I can pull the entire structure out and catch them both. Def would need to find a couple other fish with some color as most people at the office like the fish LOL... Have a pair of black/white percs in a GBTA and a single platinum as my other carpet surfed. Then a blue tang so need to add some life into this tank if I pull them out. I would have to take them to the local pet store as they would not stand a chance in my 240 at home with 5, 5-7" tangs.

Harlequin Tusk Fish? They're great if you don't have any crustaceans...
An algae blenny (ugly, but cute like a bulldog) can take over the Tangs job.
Then maybe a pair of Banner Cardinals.
Do your homework and choose wisely.

Besides, a 60 gal is a tight spot for two tangs. These tangs might get beat up in your home tank, but they would survive.

Its a tough choice to make Nano.
In the meantime I would remove the corals to a safe place until you decide what to do.

Any pictures? sounds nice.

Not surprising.... it's been documented in regards to TANGS. Do a search here on RC and the rest of the internet.

I will try and get some pictures over the next week or so. Its def top notch setup here at the office. Sleek black acrylic pullout stand and matching top. 3 sided starfire glass. AI led setup run off a profilux with 2 t5 also and a blue led bar for even more pop. SWC 160 skimmer and running the FM balling system off the profilux doser. ATO setup also so very low maintenance. Using TM bio actif salt and loving it. Now I just need to get my 240 at home back into the glory days. I love the ability for the thunderstorm effect with the AI's and profilux combo.

I had tangs many yrs with zoos in my sps setup and never had a problem. We are talking yrs as a few of my tangs r 13 plus in my 240. Its a bummer but I put the auto feeder on it so lets see if that helps them on there midnight snacks.

Everything is a dice roll in this hobby.. I had a puffer that never ate zoas or inverts. As well as tangs that were saints. YT seem to get more nutty the older they get...

they can be angels for months, years, etc.... then for some reason some switch inside them clicks and they start to mow em down.

I had a Yellow Tang that ate all of my pink palys - just the pinks and left the rest of the zoa/palys alone. I've had the Yellow for about three years with no problem and within just days after the introduction of the pink palys, it started mowing on it until it was all gone.
